I bought this revolver a few weeks ago, I have yet to fire it. Two burrs on extractor are preventing the use of speed loader, also if loading by hand the rounds still get hung up, I have to jiggle the extractor to get the round seated. Probably a quality control over sight. As far as finish the matt black is black is no nonsense, but what I don't understand is they used bright blued screws looks like the revolver was cobbled together out of spare parts. I have a neurological issue,I bought this revolver as a daily carry rig, as I found I could no longer field strip my HK USP. There is going to be a delay getting it deployed. I shopped all the 357 magnum revolvers, and the Model 65 is the best value, just examine the extractor and all moving parts closely. I am having trouble finding a suitable holster, I'm sure that will work out,

I had been watching for a Super Red Hawk to come up in the library that wasn't shot out or too expensive. In researching the Red Hawk, I came across the Taurus Model 44. There is not much advertising on it, but there are a few You Tube videos. Kind of scary to buy a gun You have not held in Your hand as these or only available through on line ordering at Cabelas. Tried finding one elsewhere, no luck. But I kept hearing good things about the gun, and I've always wanted a 44. Ordered it and received it within 5 days. Fit and finish, very nice. Cleaned and oiled it just to inspect it. Very nice. Took it out and shot 100 rounds strait through it. Inspected it. Fit and finish is holding up nicely. Now all I need is something to clean the black off the stainless. Overall, I am very pleased with this gun. Would definitely recommend it. The price is fantastic for what it is.

I've owned this since 2013. I like it very much. I like the grips a lot too. Very ergonomic and the shiny brass Taurus Bull Head stud offsets the all black finish nicely. The pistol is very accurate more accurate the my Beretta 92, not that means much. The problem I have with it is reliability. I Bought it on Nov 2, 2013. After 12 rounds of 158gr Geco .357 it jammed. The cylinder stop froze and would not advance another round. I sent it in. Taurus has what is call a Service Order number. Shipping it in was easy. They fixed the problem a broken sear that is timed to stop the cylinder, test fired it, cleaned it and shipped it back via FEDEX. That took 2 months. I got it back and it was like a new gun. Seriously. The thing was smooth. Now last weekend 03/16/2019 the Cylinder fell out. I was shooting house 158grs and it just stopped. Shipped it back again. I still love this piece. For a .357 it's tiny and wow what a wallop. Be prepared to ship in. Taurus to their credit have the repair aspect to of their business well oil. I wonder why???

I bought this Model brand new in 1982! It has walnut grips and nickel finish! Both discontinued unfortunately! Also rear site has two adjustment screws! Beautiful weapon and shoots great to this day! Dead on accurate! Use Critical Defense 38 Special +P. No need for 357 Mag recoil. Love it!

GrabAGun offered the Taurus 65 at a good price, sent timely and appropriate communications, and delivered as stated.

Was not expecting a firearm of this quality at this price. The craftsmanship is nothing short of prefection. its no wonder that Taurus is one of the top three leading gun manufacturers.

Great value!. The gun has great balance and the weight is matched well for the recoil of the .357. The fit and finish are above value, and the grips are properly sticky.

Sold it three days after I purchased it. Gun was delivered and and in great shape at my dealer. But, I did not get to shoot it. I will be purchasing in the near future.

Shoots like a dream. The duble action trigger is pretty smooth, and the single action is crisp. Though the sights can not be adjusted it is very nice to shoot. The only downside was the scratch I found on the barrel, and the grips seams do not align. But these cosmetic issues don't affect performance.

It's a comfortable revolver for weaker, older wrists, and it is spot-on accurate out of the box. Wonderful to use at the range!

Have yet to put more than 400 rounds, but still a wonderful sidearm. My only gripe is that it has trench sights. Bout it on this website on a Saturday, and picked it up on Wednesday. Has ate every round without trouble, and is extremely accurate after I found out where to hold the sites.

Good value for the money. Comfortable and well-made. Shoots consistently once you get used to the trench sight, This is my second Taurus revolver and no disappointments.

I have an older Taurus 85 38 Special snub nose ,so the Taurus 65 was a nice big brother for that one, now I can shoot 38 Special ,38 Special plus p and 357 mag, not to mention the Taurus 65 loaded with the right 357 mag home defense ammo is a nice Home Defense weapon add a couple speed loaders and your set... Taurus makes nice firearms and they're good quality for the money ,affordable and fun to shoot.

In my opinion you'd be hard pressed to find a better .357 Wheel Gun for the $. Nice finish Size and weight feel good in my hands Six rounds will go bang when ya want them to go bang either double or single action. What's not to like for under $450! U Can't find a better place to purchase a Taurus 65 for the $ then Sportsman's Warehouse When Sportsman's Warehouse has the Taurus 65 in stock I had to wait a number of months to purchase, checking the web site frequently to

Awesome revolver. The 357 mag is the one revolver I am really familiar with being that I have owned them before and fell really comfortable in using it and carrying it. The Black matt finish on the Taurus 65 357 is awesome, does not show finger prints like my last 357 which was chromed. The balance is very good and the fit to the hand is great. There recoil is standard like with any magnum. I recommend this to anyone that is looking for a great carry 357.
