2 years agoGreat Wheel gun. love the fit and finish. mine was a little dry, sticky when dropping the cylinder and and spinning it. after drops of CPL in the hammer, trigger, release catch and the cylinder rod, it's now perfect!

1 year agoTook it to the range and sighted it in. Great handgun . Fits right in between my 617 and 610. 5 inch is a good choice.

1 year ago5 inches is the sweet spot for this frame in my opinion. Unfluted cylinder is so nice on this revolver. Accurate longish barrel and can hike/backpack with it. Wood grips are gorgeous! Quality gun throughout! Only con is holster size. Nobody makes a 5" 686 plus so I'm using a Galco 6" which fits like a glove. Just a tad longer.

1 year agoI Smith & Wesson Model 686 was the first revolver I ever bought. I have purchased two 686s. I bought one brand new in the early 80s, a 6-inch model with ramp front sight. I loved it. My girlfriend at the time loved it more. So I bought a second one, a 6-inch target model with a patridge front sight. I used it in silhouette shooting for about three years, hammering it with full power, heavy bullet loads as I downed targets at 200 meters--most of the time, anyway. I even put a scope on it and won

1 year agoNice feel, nice balance, looks good, shot to point of aim right out of the box. At 40 oz + and 5” barrel recoil is manageable even with 158g, 1240fps, 539ft-lb loads. I might end up with a brighter sight up front. It was a pleasure making this purchase working with the crew at Sportsman’s, Hillsboro OR.

1 year agoI love it! It was absolutely wonderful ! Exhilarating to shoot this weapon ! Smith and Wesson needs to help us find a descent hoister to wear this wonderful magnum. Yes it is great to own this. Jimmy Drake The Big City of Donalsonviille, Georgia. Where the best peanuts in the world are grown ! And the women are prettier ! We love Georgia !

1 year agoOne of the best revolvers I own. Aesthetically, I prefer fluted cylinders. But, what makes this revolver shoot so well is the unfluted cylinder. It add a bit more heft to the mechanics. The added stability from that type of cylinder makes a big difference with a 7-chamber revolver.

1 year agoVery nice and high quality. Fun to shoot and it will be great for home defense and hunting. It's accurate and reliable. God Bless the USA... lets go Republicans!!

1 year agoFinally have a Smith and Wesson 686 plus 5 Magnum! Love the weight and feel of this gun. As far as shooting, nothing compares. Put 150 357 mag rounds through so far and 50 38 rounds, not a problem. There are 2 minor blemish marks on barrel right side above smith & wesson but will have to live with it. Didn't notice till after. 4 star becuase o...Read More Read more about review stating What A Feeling!

1 year agoFirst time buying a gun online, kind of made me nervous from other reviews. The smith 686 came in perfectly beautiful condition. Can't go wrong with a smith! I don't know if I would buy online again though, 9 total days to ship. $8 shipping, $15 firearm processing, $6 package insurance. And you have to pay a $35 transfer fee at the store you selec...Read More Read more about review stating 686

1 year agoBeautiful piece. Love the stainless steel. Perfect balance and with the 3in barrel it carries well OWB but is still concealable.

1 year agofeels well balanced, top quality (it's a S&W) and shoots with some, but not a lot of kickback both for 357 cal and 38 special cal. Steel is again top quality.

1 year agoThis gun is super great in your hand, the grips are so comfortable it feels like an extention to your hand. Would highly recommend this gun to anyone looking for a new 357 magnum. It is accurate and a true pleasure to shoot, as well as to look at. I own colt 357s and would put this smith right up there with them

1 year agoNice sturdy revolver, smooth action, locks up tight. The grip is wood and looks and feels good. The only negative was swirl marks in the stainless. Over all great gun that should last forever. (For the price there should not be swirls in the stainless from the factory. )
