2 years agoI bought this ammo, and it had more misfires and jams than I care to count. I would have thought that Winchester ammo would shoot well out of a Winchester rifle, but I could not have been more wrong. I fired Remington ammo out of it just fine, no misfires, and no jamming. Do NOT buy this garbage ammo.

2 years agoWas the second least accurate brand that I tried. Tried in more than one gun. Results the same in all instances.

2 years agoAbout 35% of what I have shot didn't fire. Shot over 300 rounds. Very disappointed. What did shoot grouped very well at 65 yards.

2 years agoShot these out of 2 different rifles, Marlin 25N & Winchester Model 250 lever action, bench rest, 50 yds. Accuracy was all over the board. Out of 30 shots, 3 FTF's all with good strikes on the casing and 4 others that sounded like duds. I'm very disappointed with this purchase and will never purchase Winchester 22LR ammo again.

1 year agoThe primer was not bad bullet shot out of the barrel but primer was ripped from case and case was stuck in The breach Simple fix just stuck cleaning rod through the front of the barrel Rifle was a marlin model 60 Shot somewhere around 75 rounds before this took place Out of the same box Never have had a problem from this brand before

1 year agoThis ammo will do if its all you can get at the time. Prefer CCI mini-mag because its a lot cleaner and more reliable in my opinion, especially in my Ruger 10/22 and Smith & Wesson M&P 15/22 semi auto rifles.

1 year agoI’ve bought a case of the pictured 22LR 40gr ammo, and I regret it. I’ve probably shot 500 rounds of it and have had at least two dud rounds in a box or 50, which is not acceptable quality for Winchester Super-X! Those are completely dud rounds that will never ignite no matter how many times you hit different place on the rim by re-chambering them. Cheaper “Value Pack” 22LR ammo from different brands do not have as many dud rounds. I cannot recommend this particular ammo to my friends, and I will never buy another box this ammo. Too bad the quality of Winchester Super-X ammo has become this bad....

1 year agopurchased a ruger ssr22 and a 10/22charger and a box of that super X ammo.got to the range loaded 70 rds.in my mags and to my and my sons' surprise from the very beginning it was a disaster..they would not charge, detonate or eject.fired about 8-10 rds..had to purchase ammo at range that did work perfectly (Aguila)..shot about 300 rds..with 1 failure..have 2 boxes of 555 and hope they function on my next trip to the range..

1 year agoAfter many thousands of rounds of various ammos fired from a wide array of weapons over a 3+ year period in all types of weather, there were two that tied for second-place & Winchester was one of them.

1 year agoHave been buying this ammo for a few months now and have not had a single failure, not s sure what else I could ask. It fires reliably and is about as accurate as anything else I've used CCI included.

1 year agoJust completed the practical range test for a SC CCP. Product performed without a hiccup which is unusual for rimfire ammo.

1 year agoI bought 3 boxes of this ammo at my local range, because it was affordable and I was running low at home. When I did run out, I opened up these and immediately had issues. I thought maybe it was because of the cold weather outside, but it was bad primers and brass getting caught in the barrel of my handgun. So I cleaned the gun and it seemed to fire a little better, but really not much better. My girlfriend went to ladies night at the range and the range master said it was likely my gun, which is less than a year old and cleaned... so she stopped using it. I bought a different brand of ammo and it ran 50 rounds with no issues, compared to at least 2 jam ups and as many as 5 weak primers per magazine. Very disappointed with this ammunition and I still have 100 rounds left.

1 year agoBought 1,000+ rounds (some bulk pack ('limited edition' issue) some 100 round packs). Wish I had read these reviews first - the one star ones are spot-on. Out of one box of 100, a 10% failure to fire rate (even with multiple strikes). Other failures include failure to feed into the chamber (a result of the bullets being loose and not being seated & crimped). This results in the casing being bent & crushed as it is being fed into the chamber. I started examining them very closely and find these loose bullets throughout. This is through a Ruger Mk IV that fires federal, CCI, blazer, remington, even bulk pack golden bullets pretty flawlessly with no issues. Very disappointed with this product, and I see the responses to the issues from other folks is a posting of a link...???!! Will never buy again and will also seriously have doubts about all Winchester ammo in future.

1 year agoThis is extremely frustrating when you busy several cases or this ammo. It’s supposed to be the best. Come to find out a year later that less than half of them actually fire. Thought it may have been my firing pin in my pistol. Put the same round in my revolver results were the same. Tried it in a lever action. Same results. Wish I would’ve know only about 1/3 of these fire and when they do it’s the saddest little pop so quite it sounds like a kids cap gun. I know Winchester is better than this. The super x is supposed to be the best.

1 year agoI have shot roughly 1,000 ground squirrels with this ammo in a Mossberg 144, some sod poodles, and a fox at a bit over 100 yds. Accuracy is good, better than many, but it is the lethality that keeps me shooting from a single lot of 5,000 bullets. No misfires that I can recall.

1 year agoOver 2000 rounds through my ruger precision had maybe 2 rounds that did not fire I've been using this ammo for rat eradication for many years it is highly affective highly accurate out of my rifle I've had .75" groups @ 200yrds with no wind , lead expansion is perfect for small game , or Rodant removal I've taken down hogs with this ammo ( shot placement is obviously key). I really could not say anything bad or negative about this product except its getting hard to find . I promise this product will amaze you.

1 year agoI had 5 misfires with rims struck by the firing pin while attempting to shoot the hundred rounds of this .22 lr ammo through my clean Ruger mkii competition pistol. Not sure why. Other brand ammo no problem. Ammo seemed old. Purchased new within 6 months from major retailer.

1 year agoI picked up a couple of boxes of this stuff and was very disappointed. I had several FTFs (Failed-to-Fire); as many as 1 out of every 3 rounds failed to fire. With my new S&W Victory, if a round doesn't go off, something is wrong with that round because the hammer on my Victory drives the firing pin deep into the rim. Still, I tried each one 4 times in 4 locations on the rim, then I tried my revolver and my 10-22 and still, nothing. Out of 100 rounds, 43 failed to fire the first time. Of the 43, 21 failed to fire after multiple attempts.

1 year agoI shot 100 rounds and had 3 duds with a brand new gun. Good dimples on the cartridge too. That would be a 3% failure rate. What if one of those duds were when i needed it for self defense...????
