Taurus M856 Defender .38 Special Revolver With VZ Grips, Stainless – 2-85635NSVZ

My first revolver, I have taken it to the range two times and shot a total of 100 rounds so far. I enjoy it and happy that i purchased it.

Gun is easy on the eyes and shoots well. I’ve only put 100 rounds thru it, and have had no issues. Small enough for concealed carry and powerful enough to rely on. I love revolvers and this is definitely one I plan to keep!

Perfect weapon for carry & conceal. Easy to handle and has plenty of stopping power with the correct ammo. I actually prefer this gun over my glock.

I order it online and few days later it was at cabelas. I have not picked it up but it shipped out fast.

Maybe, I got one with an extremely gritty and hard to pull trigger, which will affect your accuracy. Overall, the metal in this pistol makes it safe to use plus P loads, I like that...

A fine revolver. Very ergonomic grip, fits my hand perfectly. Solid construction and balance. It will require cleaning often to maintain it's luster. But, overall an excellent product.

The Taurus 856 Defender is almost exactly what I want in a small frame revolver, I like a four inch barrel. It’s handy light and accurate. There’s several options available, I could not find one in stainless so the matte black finish will do. I might buy a set of wood grips later on along with a nice holster. The purchase process was easy enough, although there is no way to get a Veterans discount. Paperwork at the store is always smooth and three people are involved making sure it’s all correct. All in all I am well satisfied.

I have wanted a revolver for awhile because I shoot my friends Ruger 38 special revolver sometimes at the gun range for target practice & so wanted to get a revolver & this Taurus fit what I wanted it is a 3 in. Barrel , 38 special & has a night sight. but I put about 50 rounds so far through it at the gun range & it isn’t the most accurate gun but maybe I’m just not used to it so will practice with it more. I usually shoot semiautomatic guns so this is my first revolver.

Was trying to bridge the gap between the 2" and 4.5" for an easy carry that was not a slide. Have sent 100+ rounds through it already, recoil is manageable. Good gun and happy with the purchase.

Has just the right weight to mitigate the recoil . VZ grips are excellent. 3 inch barrel increases the accuracy over the sub nose. Good fit and finish also.

The Defender feels great in my hands. This is a very well made hand gun. I have not been able to shoot yet. No ammo to be available.

Very nice compact .38 Special revolver. Seems to be well made with decent double and single action. VZ stocks are kind of funky looking however, fit the hand very well and provide for a good grip. Taurus provides a lot of bang for the buck. Overall I am quite satisfied with the purchase.

Outstanding revolver! Perfect fit for my hands and comes up perfectly to my natural point of aim. Fits nicely in my inside waistband holster. Plus it is a very nice and distinctive looking gun. Plenty accurate out to 25 yards. Sportsman’s warehouse personnel did an outstanding job during a stressful period here in Oregon. No complaints at all on gun or services.

It’s a wheel… if you like revolvers, it has its own brand of appeal to it, and in a world of “snub nosed” … it’s sports a barrel accurate enough to have a little bit of fun at the range with. Bottom line, is a functional 38+ P rated revolver.
