2 years agoShoots well. Smooth in single and double action. sits a little lose in a large hand but fits well in a designed holster. No regrets for this purchase at all.

2 years agoGreat price for quality six shot revolver. I did remove the stock grip and put the Hogue three finger grip on it, which I like more than the stock two finger grip.

2 years agoThis is a very nice weapon. It cleans easy and is a comfortable weapon to fire. The kick isn't bad at all and my wife has an easy time firing it also!

1 year agoFrom the butt to the barrel this six chamber revolver exceeded my expectations. The grip is comfortable and fills the hand and the textures make sure that the gun stays put while firing. Double action the trigger pull is right as it should be requiring an intentional smooth squeeze and the single action is easy and effective. I really enjoy the texture of the hammer and the cylinder release. As far as the finish I really like the matte sort of bead blasted look of the stainless steel frame;

1 year agoExcellent quality, high value, shoots straight at POA. It heavy for a CCW (22oz) but works well for +p loads. Low recoil.

1 year agoNice revolver for the money. Took to the range fired about 30 rounds of Remington 158gr got extremely dirty had to spend 25 mins cleaning. I still think it is a nice pickup. This is the second Taurus purchase after purchasing the G3C a month ago to add to the collection . Extremely satisfied with both purchases.

1 year agoReally nice handgun at a great price. I took it to the range and but several rounds through it without issue. I have big hands and I can see where a larger grip might be nice. I bought some +P ammo for it but I haven't tried it out yet. It doesn't say on the description that it takes that ammo but I see in the Q&A section that it does just fine with it.

1 year agoPerfect ! No need to spend 500.00 for a quality snub, this does exactly what it is supposed to do. Reliability and descent accuracy.

1 year agoExcellent revolver for the price point.. lockup and timing are decent. Fit and finish are very good. Trigger is about average for a single/DA revolver. Overall balance and weight are very good, also.. Taurus has definitely stepped up their game with the 856 models..

1 year agoI already own a Taurus 605 357 mag and enjoyed it so when the Taurus 856 was available I purchased it for myself As I stated before in another post I am mainly a Colt, Smith and Wesson, Kimber and Ruger person and like a very good quality firearm. After buying the Taurus 605 to my collection I really admired the design and workmanship of the Taurus I bought the 856 38 special for my wife to carry and after checking it out and firing it with 38 Specials and 38 Special +P I was comfortable

1 year agoI did a few upgrades as stated below. I am really happy with this purchase. The price was reasonable and the the gun arrived on time for pick up.

1 year agoA surprisingly nice little revolver. Pleasantly surprised at the build quality, was quite good. Liked it so much, I went back and purchased a second one. Cleaned and lubricated all the internals, actually has a rather nice trigger in both single- and double-action. Didn't see any need for a reduced-power spring kit. Both revolvers now have custom grips installed. I am tickled with these little guys.

1 year agoVery nice snubnose. Well made, nice trigger, tight lockup. As good as one of my SP101's. This is .38 Special, +P capable. Very happy with purchase, bought a second one.

1 year agoLove it. Exactly what I was looking for. It is a truck, bag, dependable .38. Feels great in my hand and has a nice off the shelf trigger.

1 year agoSmall enough to slip in a sticky sleeve and put in the counsel of the car. Shoots nice without a lot of kick

1 year agoOutstanding revolver for the price! I modified mine with a light polish, trigger/hammer springs, and wood grips for a classic look. All I need now is some upgraded sights!

1 year agoWhat makes this a five star rating is the price. The firearm is well made with a nice finish and good craftsmanship. Taurus has come a long way over the years.

1 year agoI’m very satisfied with my purchase of the 856 Taurus. A few days after my purchase of the 856, I took it to the shooting range and shot a full box of 50 rounds of blazer 125 gr. Full metal jacket ammo out of it and it preformed flawlessly. The majority of my shots a 15 yards all hit a nine inch paper plate. I really like this 856.????????????

1 year agoGreat little pistol! Nice carry pistol! Trigger pull is little hard at 12lbs! Bought a lighter trigger spring got it to 7lbs!perfect! Hits the target!

1 year agoMore accurate than S&W 637 airweight. No defects. Smooth trigger good as a S&W. Stock grips fit me well.
