The grip texturing is the chemical formula for perfection, and the action is extremely safe.

I purchased the Marine Operators model of the 1911-A1, First time at the range I was shooting a VERY satisfying group! The trigger pull is great and I really love the sights. Even my grand daughter was shooting some very good groups. Far superior weapon to the pistols we shoot when I was in the Corps.

I purchased a Range Officer in 9MM model PI9129L after I had injured my wrist. (Any excuse to buy a new gun, right?) The pistol was tight in barrel fit to slide at chamber lock up and at the barrel bushing. Slide to frame fit is excellent also. I prefer 1911s that don't have recoil spring guides or front slide serrations, just a personal thing. I purchased the pistol purely for target shooting. I reload and shoot cast SWCs which it feeds flawlessly right out of the box, no modifications. The Springfield pistol magazine is different from the colt 9MM magazine in that it shortens the magazine at the front, this I feel improves cartridge feeding. I was awed by the accuracy at 25 yards. I would put this pistol on a par with a SIG P210 or a S&W 952. Impressive!

Had to take pistol to a gun dealer to have it bore-sighted in, but once I did, shoots good. A little trouble with the sights and put some white paint on front sight. All black rear sights and front, hard to see. Wanted a 1911 for a very long time, this is a great fit, very happy. Bass Pro was a good place to buy, only place I could find this particular make model and caliber

I've always heard how 1911's fit the hand perfectly and have great triggers. Those stories are all true. This gun feels great in the hand. The accuracy is spot on. I showed someone my most recent target they asked, "why so much better?". I had only 1 honest answer, "the gun", I said. "Really, does it make that much difference?" "Yes, definitely" Was my answer. I bought the 9mm and due to the mass of the gun and the relatively mild cartridge this gun hardly kicks at all. This gun would be excellent to train new shooters not to flinch.

This gun intrigued me when I read about it. I was cautious because the photo was small and I couldn't tell if I liked the grips. I ordered it anyway and man I'm happy I did. As soon as I saw the gun I knew I loved the color of the grips. When I held it it felt like it was glued to my hand. It's the "surest" grip I've ever encountered. (I own over 10 pistols and have owned at least twice that many so I've had lots of guns to compare it to.) It feels like it's locked to your hand. I've shot the best groups I've ever shot with this gun. My very 1st shot was a bullseye and all 50 rounds were in the 10 ring from 9 yards away. If I had to sell all of my guns this would be the last I'd part with.

I bought this pistol about 3 mo. ago and started to experience a failure to load occasionally. I continued to use and clean gun thinking a break in time was needed. Continued to have same issue to about 500 rounds which should be enough time. Sent it back to Springfield to inspect but haven't heard back. Hope to get it right because I love the gun otherwise.

I bought at bass pro three months ago, very nice to shoot,I used at indoor shooting range, the only thing I would say is this pistol doesn’t have a mos or pictany rail to attach a weapon light, otherwise great to shoot in .45 ACP,also construction is solid metal and excellent finishing.

I give this 4 stars because I do not own more than 5 different 1911 9mm products to be able to rank them. Anyone awarding 5 stars to any product cannot legitimately do so after evaluating only one. ok my 2cents of review commentary Springfield 1911 Range Officer Elite Target 9mm, a great value, improved trigger, all steel construction, adjustable target sights, comes with a range bag, cleaning kit, double magazine pouch, replacement fiber optic rods (red and green) for the front sight and a cable lock. The self lubricating Springfield Black-T treatment is a significant upgrade both functionally and cosmetically. The RO Elite comes with G-10 grips that are slimmer than the wood grips on other models and have a much better purchase in the hand; the G10 grips may be more noticeable on the .45 model than the much lighter recoil 9mm… but they are nice! It would be great if Springfield had textured the front strap ..but with the 9mm not a big issue. Cycled perfectly with several loads 147gr Aguila, 115gr Federal, no mis-feeds, no fail to fire, no fail to eject, no fail to hold the action open after the last round in over 200rds. Ergonomics are all 1911 (that means supurb!). The 9mm recoil is very tame; The RO Elite models all have the Springfield Gen 2 trigger which is an upgrade over other models. Accuracy wise it’s better than I am. I expected to zero the rear adjustable sight but out of the box it was dead on at 25yds. Finally comparisons with other 1911’s including those priced significantly higher do not offer the features, all steel construction, and many of the features included with the RO Elite. In the under $1000 1911 category the Springfield RO Elite Target will be very difficult to beat.

EMP4 CCC is the best handgun I have ever purchased! I haven't found any ammo that it won't shoot! Super accurate weapon! Well worth the extra money!

I purchase this gun for target shooting and home defense. I had rented the Springfield 1911 RO Elite at my local gun shop. It felt awesome in my hand and was functioned very well. It is heavier but helps with the recoil. However, after about 200 rounds, one of the magazines would not lock the slide back. It took it back to Bass Pro and the salesman couldn't get it to lock back either. He pulled a similar magazine from another gun with the same result. He said he would request a new magazine from Springfield in hopes that this was a magazine issue. That was 2 months ago and I am still waiting. I have since ordered 2 more magazines directly from Springfield Armory. I received them in 2 weeks after I ordered them and they are working fine. I love the gun but I guess I am disappointed in Bass Pro Shops on the quality of service.

Love this gun, very accurate and has everything I wanted in a 1911. The clips are junk, jammed up from the first round. Threw them away and bought Wilson Combat clips and the gun works flawlessly. This gun does not come with a real case, it comes in a zipper bag that holds the gun and the two worthless clips.

I purchased the XD because of its ergonomics and recoil characteristics that provided multishot accuracy as well as ergonomic easy handling. I had been used to shooting a G21 SF in .45ACP and a G19 in 9mm Luger. I found the XD to be far more comfortable to shoot with equal reliability in my hands. I like the additional safety features of the gun that include a grip safety. Takedown is easy but not as easy as a Glock but that is not such a big deal as its still easy enough. I really enjoy shooting this gun!

Loved the xd9, already took it to the range and it shot fantastic. Only thing i was bumMed out about was that the picture online is a bit deceiving Do to the faCt you get a bag and not a case and no cleaning tool. Great product though.

I like the pistol itself. But Springfield didn't ship me a hard box with a cleaning rod as illustrated in the picture. Instead, I just got a small soft bag. I was told this is the new packaging they started to use since a few months back.

Uncomfortable value!! This is the REAL GLOCK-KILLER. it's so much cheaper AND has soooo many more features. 1) ambedexous mag RELEASEs; 2) muzzle protector so, like a revolver, you can press muzzle into intruder's back without going out of battery; 3) steel sights; 4) grip safety since all striker fired guns work like 1911; 5) striker cocked indicator; 6) genuine picktiny rail; 7) disassembley lever vs frame cuts known to jam in sand; 8) world accepted Browning grip angle; 9) pop-up loaded chamber Tactical at night. Does every thing best, I have 6 with no issues!!

Really enjoy shooting this pistol. I prefer the two-tone look vs the all black, which means I needed to find a used one. The mod2 grip feels great, but I have big hands and prefer the “chunky” grips of the XD line. Someone with small hands might like them less. All in all, I think the Springfield XDs are a great balan...Read More Read more about review stating Nice little 9mm
