Newfoundland moose 191yards, 180 grain partition, one shot! I racked in the next round and asked my guide where the bull was, he replied “Don’t worry about that he went down like something in an arcade, beautiful shot”! When we dressed him out his heart was gone. Only gun I’ll use again!

I have 300 Weatherby Mark V stainless.Excellent accuracy with Barnes TTSX 165 grain and 180 grain AccuBond . My long shots used to be considered 200 to 250 yards but now have taken many deer and hogs with normal 4.5 -14 Leupold VX -3 at 350 to 400 yards as well as personal best of 515 yards deer. The bullets fly as advertised and should be able to connect out further with new ballistic dial Kahles scope while any crosswinds.

Can’t beat a Weatherby! I own seven Weatherby rifles, and all have drew blood with one shot and no loss of animal. My favorite is the 300 as it can load from 130 grain to 220 grains, all with lethal effect. The looks and craftmanship is second to none. One just feels good having it in your hands while hunting, and knowing looks are just have the benefit.

My 300 is the best long range rifle ever. I have 15 rifles I hunt with, but only use 1,my 300 weatherby! Wouldn’t leave home with out it!!

I have had a 300 WBY MK 5 for 30 yrs—been to AK, BC, 7 times to Africa and countless elk hunts in CO where I live. I’m 75 yrs old and still hold a 3/4″ group with 200 gr Nosler–all those hunts and never wounded an animal. Keep shots under 400 yds. best rifle I’ve ever had !!

I bought a used vanguard in 300 wm about 18 years ago for $225 . It has never had a factory shell through it I hand load it with 180 grain spire points . Data from Lee manual , it shoots 3 holes that can be covered with a quarter at 100 yards from a truck hood using a coat rolled up to get steady. I am not a expert shot either. It will do this every time if I can. As they say nothing beats a weatherby.

I am a mountain hunter. Grand Slam #2090. My WBY is about 20 years old. I shoot the X bullets in 180 gr. Killed all the above and more at ranges from 90 to 460 yards. Most over 300. One shot does it. It’s an amazing round. Thank you Roy WBY

Shooting a Weatherby MK 5 300 Mag, at Fort Benning, GA to get ready for a Colorado Elk hunt. Sighted in my Leopold scope for the 180 grain Nosler Partition at 200 yards. Excellent results. Grouped three bullet holes so they were touching. Took a Colorado bull elk at 265 yards with a one shot. Drop in it’s tracks. The bullet hit the right side rib and broke through it, went through the heart, and exited through the left side rib.

I’ve been shooting Weatherby rifles now for 20 years… Bought my first one as a college graduation gift to myself. A used Accumark chambered in .257 weatherby mag. I had promised myself that if I ever got to where I could afford one I would buy myself one……. LORDS WILL! Once I bought that used Accumark I was totally hooked. MANNNNNNNN….. These things flat out shoot. Since then, I’ve purchased and traded around 11 Mark V weatherby’s. To date I own 9. 243 CFP, 240, 257, 7 mag, (2) 300’s a 30-378,

I own a Weatherby .270 Mag with a beautiful Tiger maple stock. Has always been the center piece of all hunt camps in Colorado, New Brunswick, Vermont, Wyoming, California Whitetail to Elk to Antelopes. Never had to take a second shot. Ballistics are the best. I have purchased three more Weatherby .300 Mags ( all older Made in Germany) firearms. Weatherby went through a period of changing quality over the years and I recommend finding the older German steel models.

Expensive but as far as factory hunting ammo goes, the best you can get for .300wby, get consistent 1/2 MOA, I’d I do my part, with my Accumark

This Cartridge will take anything in the Americas with the right bullet. Standard Load for 30 Years has been 86 Grains of IMR7828 (I still have a good supply of the original) with a Nosler Partition 180. The one close range shot I took with my Mark V was at 35 yards on a southwestern Black Bear in NM at it might as well have been struck by lightning.

Weatherby ammo is premium ammo. I reload. I can’t top Weatherby ammunition. I have two guns chambered in 300 Weatherby. A Vanguard that puts 8 rounds in a 3/4” clover at 100yds. And Grandpa’s rechambered Belgium Browning fires 300Wby Mag nearly as well. Lungshot deer die as though hit by lightning, never taking a step.

Though my Weatherby is a HOWA Vanguard It put 8 rounds in a little square clover at 100yds. I also own grandpa’s Belgium Browning chambered in 300Wby Mag. Both guns digest Weatherby 180gr. Hornaday at 3/4 MOA. One shot killers. Deer don’t know what happened ,even through the lungs they are just dead. No running. Yes there’s blood in the nostrils , so they must have took a breath, but they never take a step when hit by 300 Weatherby mag.

My dad started with 270 weatherby , then 257 w.m., 300 m V flat trajectory, merciful death machines. All purchased before 1960. Deer, elk, antalop, or bear. All never took another breath after meeting big bobs weatherby.

Absolutely love this round. Primarily use is whitetail, which is overkill I know, but with the right shot placement this round is killer. Excellent weight retention and mushroom upon penetration. Have used this round on Kudu, Impala, Wildebeest, and Warthog as well and it does the trick every time. This is my go to round
