I bought this about a month before hunting season, the scope is excellent, in 270 win it's easy on my shoulder, shoots straight, a real beauty! 5 stars

Took this to the range and after some scope adjustments its firing great at 100 yds. Great gun at a good price.

I bought this gun in 30-06 about a year ago and I love it!! The scope is a great addition to this gun! The trigger is a little weird to get use to but when you get use to having that (as I like to call) Guide it is pretty useful. Over all great gun and amazing scope

I'm new to hunting and to shooting. This was my choice for my first high powered rifle. Bought it in .308 took it out yesterday to sight it in and brought a bunch of different rounds with me. Was using Winchester super X 180 grain rounds and was all over papre and thought maybe the scope was loose or I realy sucked. Put in 3 sako hammer head rounds and shot a 1 inch group at 100 yards. It really likes sako rounds apparently lol. What an awesome gun though great bang for your $

Everything seemed fine until I noticed that the scope was loose. The front rail that was mounted to the reciever was moving because one of the screws was loose. This wouldn't be be a big deal except that used a screw with AN ODD SIZE hex wrench. No standard Metric or SAE sizes work. Looks to be between 1.5 and 2 mm or 5/64 and 1/16. The only way I can find to get a 1.7 mm is to buy a whole set. The gun has only fired about 30 rounds and the screw is already loose. VERY POOR QUALITY.

Accuracy and Cycling are excellent; sub MOA and no jams. But after trying with two different scope, I figured out that scope rail was slightly pointing up. The bolt started to rust after first day of shooting under range roof on slightly foggy day in Vancouver. To be fair, my ruger rusted slightly on same day, whereas cz bolt didnt.

I bought this rifle in 30-06 before moose hunting season and was super happy with the results, even though I didn’t get my moose. It took me about 12 rounds to get it zeroed in at 100 yards, but after that I was hitting the centre of the target consistently. I can shoot a box of 20 in 180 grain and barely feel it in my shoulder afterwards. The bolt release is a little awkward and I noticed a bit of rust forming on the receiver when left out of its case overnight after a heavy dew, but it wiped right off. Good value for the dollar and a straight shooter than can take abuse in the bush.

The only complaint I ever heard about this rifle was regarding the bolt being a little wiggly and needing attention to cycle. It may be the case with some, but I can't conform it. Mine is tight, smooth and effortless to operate. I love it.

I bought apex storm in 7 Remington magnum two yeats. I don’t shoot that often I took it to a range to sight it. I shot up to 200 and 300 yards with Nikon pro stuff 5 3.5/15/50 My savege is 7mm and only problem I found is whenever I use sako 170 G and after discharge of bullet the case stuck in the barrel and I have to use force to take out. So I am not sure the problem is from rifle or sako ammo. I called sako and the guy I was talking said your problem is from your rifle. I am not sure but I stop using sako bullet.

The scope wasn't tied down !!!now I have to go put another box of shells through it to sight it in . after I torqued the mounts . thanks!

I purchased this rifle in 2019 in 308win for big game hunting. I have taken 2 moose with it, and have spent some time at the range. It's a great rifle for the price, it feels good in your hands, and has a good recoil pad. I picked the apex storm because of the finish, black carbon barrels rust easier. I didn't want to worry about that when hunting in bad conditions. My rifle likes Barnes Vortx ttsx 168grain, and Federal Gold Medal Sierra Matchking ammo 168grain. Nosler Trophy Bonded 180grain. With these rounds I've consistently shot 1"minus groups at 100 yards without an expensive shooting rest. The scope does well and will perform just fine for normal hunting and range use. (Vortex optics have a lifetime warranty) I've tried Hornady 180 grain and some Winchester, Remington 180grain and I couldnt group well (groups up to 1.75") but every rifle is different, and it couldn't be user error.

BOTH the Rifle and the scope are quality products. The rifle cycles smoothly, the bolt has a nice feel to it. The overall ergonomics of the rifle fit my frame well! The rifle does kick a little with the .308 rounds, BUT it is light and easy to carry, so there are tradeoffs. The Vortex Crossfire is a well built scope with clear glass and an easy to read reticle. My issue is with how the two were combined: First trip to the range I could not even put a round on paper at 25 YDS!!! I had to adjust the windage turret right to its full extent to even see a hole print on paper!! so after wasting half a box of expensive .308, i now need to examine the scope mount and Picatinny rail setup on my rifle to see what the issue is. Whoever ""Boresighted"" this rifle prior to my purchase might want to double check what they are doing!! I WILL recommend this product as i feel it is a quality setup, just needs a little work

Save your cash. Bought on sale in Sept at local Cabela's after owning the Savage AXIS for many years and loving it. Registered online via instructions. Sat in Safe until mid Nov before attempting to sight for hunting trip. Took rifle to range to sight with NOSLER accubond 165 grain PREMIUM ammo. Could not get a group under 8 inches at 100 meters. Had gunsmith look at gun, ALL stock bolts loose, scope rail loose, where barrel attached to action loose, stock and barrel flex ALOT. Tried to warranty with Savage and told that items I am reviewing are not under warranty and rifle would not be looked at for more defects. No quality control was performed on rifle. Rifle unsafe and not ethical to hunt with- HUGE fail Savage. Waste of money and LOTS of ammo. Missed hunt due to rifle.

I have this setup in 6.5 Creedmore. It's a solid rifle, and the Vortex scope is pretty decent too. I made a mistake when buying the rifle and didn't look it over closely enough, it's a floor model and the stock is pretty beat up. Not the fault of the rifle, I chose to buy this one, and I don't treat my gear gently anyways. Whoever mounted the scope needs to be re-trained though, the rings were nowhere near even and the torques were all over the place. The "bore sight" wasn't even close either. Pretty easy to sort out on my end, but come on guys.

I bought this version APEX in .308 caliber, I went to the range and fired some .308 PPU NATO rounds through it about 50 rounds and it worked flawlessly. I did zero it in at 50 yards just to break it in and the scope held it's zero tbe PPU rounds were touching each other in a 2 inch circle. I however did purchase a newer scope that allows me to see better with my olds eyes. It does kick a small bit in .308 but for me it's nothing as it feels like someone gives you a small punch to the chest shoulder area which is nothing for me. I found the best groups are with Hornady 150g American whitetail bullets which made a clover 3 shots at 50 yards and only spread out a bit at 100 yards, best ammo for deer. I also tried 168 federal big game loads .308 and they were close to the Hornady bullets but a second close, great for black bear a d moose elk. I have shot maybe 400 rounds now through this rifle and nvr had any issues with it and it still shoots great. SS Barrel is a must if your in damp conditions or winter, rain.

I bought this gun as my first high powered rifle (for hunting). I have the 6.5 Creedmoor, and it is accurate and reliable. I love the stainless barrel. I haven’t messed around with the acutrigger yet but it is real fun. I recommend the pelican vault hard case for the gun. The deer didn’t even take a step this gun did it’s job well!!

The rifle and scope are actually very very good. But when sighting in the scope i couldn't hit the target from 15 yards, so it is not bore sighted as advertised. And after two shots off the scope was sliding around in the mounts so had to fix all the torques on the scope mounts as well

I bought this in 243 about 5 years ago and have harvested lots of muskox and caribou with it. Never came outta sight and it shoots great at long range. Now I want one in 308!!

Have now bought one in 300 Win Mag and 308. Both rifles are great shooters. Adjustable trigger is crisp. Stock is better than most cheap plastic stocks, some flex but not too bad. For the weight savings, the light stock works. Love the 308 barrel length at 20". Very handy rifle for the blind or carrying long distances through terrain. 24" barrel for 300 WM is where it should be for a hunting rifle. Feeding isn't super smooth but has given me no issues so far and the bolt action cycles nicely. Magazines arent great, but again no issues and I appreciate the metal guts. Overall, for a lightweight, accurate, weatherproof rifle you will have trouble beating these rifles for the price.

Love it. It’s a great value for the price. I have a few savage riffles and they all have been great. Over all very happy with the purchase.
