Ruger has long set the standard for reliable, affordable and accurate .22 LR handguns, beginning with the introduction of the Standard Pistol in 1949. Since then, the Standard Pistol has undergone a series of enhancements with the development of the Mark I, Mark II, Mark III and now the Mark IV Pistol. The Mark IV maintains the classic look of the original but adds a simple, one-button takedown for quick and easy field stripping.

1 year agoGreat gun. Easy breakdown and reassemble. Would always recommend Ruger firearms. Great service and reasonable shipping.

1 year agoI am impressed with the accuracy with ammo it prefers, otherwise it is only moderately accurate. The front sight is an improvement over the old 10" silhouette Mk II sight for field use, maybe not as good for formal target shooting. The factory trigger was nasty; I replaced it with a Volquartsen trigger. Now it is pretty fair. Initially extraction/ejection was unreliable and i had at least 25% stove pipe jams. I also changed the extractor when doing the trigger. It's 90% reliable now,

1 year agoQuality of the firearm is up to the always excellent Ruger name. It’s a “beast” to shoot, obviously forward heavy, but very accurate. You will I believe need to change the grips. I am trying one heavy wood grip from Ruger and another from Volquartsen (sp?). Heavy wood grip works nicely, I’ll try the Vol next week. Also just received a Hogue rubber grip with thumb rest to try.

1 year agoBeen waiting years to get another 10" barreled MK pistol. Will shoot sub moa off of a steady rest. Used an early version in IHMSA competition about 35 or 40 years ago. Had a dozen in my arms room when I was an Armorer in the 82nd Airborne.
