Everything a 22 LR caliber 1911 should be. The Browning 1911-22 isn’t a full size 1911 with a barrel conversion kit. It’s built to 85% of the scale of John M. Browning’s original 1911 pistol in 45 ACP. Designed with a sense of duty and precision, and copiously tested to ensure accuracy, function, and the feel you should expect from a pistol bearing the Browning name. The 1911-22 A1 model is designed faithfully to look and feel of the original government model 1911-A1.

1 year agoNot a bad thing to say about this pistol. Hasn't had any problems at all. Have put 200 cci mini-mags through it and 100 cci standard velocity LRN.

1 year agoI love this little pistol. Several of the reviews I've read contain incorrect information. Specifically, the grips are wood, not plastic. Browning did a really nice job with this pistol and paid close attention to every detail. It is very well made and very accurate once you get used to the sights. My only complaint is that the front sight is all black, which, when coupled with its small size and narrowly-spaced blades on the rear sight, makes acquiring your intended aiming point somewhat difficult. It might be okay if you have a light-colored bullseye and/or you are shooting in a well-lit environment, but putting a round on the bullseye at 25' with a typical red or black bullseye target and a typical dimly-lit range is tough. With that said, I consistently shot groups of 10 that touched each other at 25', along with several bullseyes. I do intend to paint a white dot on the front sight, which I think will fix this issue. The pistol operated flawlessly at the range. I put 250 rounds through it without a single failure to feed or failure to eject. And, the pistol isn't picky either, as I shot both Federal rounds and Colt rounds. This pistol is worth every penny, and I highly recommend it.

1 year agoThe good is that this pistol is a beautiful little gun that is flawless in function. I have run about a 1000 rds thru it of all types , Hi velocity, subsonic, junk bulk rounds both good stuff and bad and the pistol just gobbled them all up with out a single glitch. Very easy to field strip & clean. The gun is sized just perfect for the small 22LR cartridge. I have somewhat large hands ( I wear a size Large glove tightly) And it feels great to me & also my 5 ft petite wife. The bad - the sights are all black and small , not great for my tired old eyes. A little yellow paint on the front help that, but at this price Browning could have did better. On my gun is a poor example of what a trigger should be like. It was a disappointment and the only reason to drop it to 4 stars. It is stiff , maybe 7- 8lbs, but what is the real dislike is that it is creepy & crunchy. The triggers has a couple of creeps in it before finally lets the hammer go. I have owned guns with worse triggers but sadly this does fit into that group. I am sending it off to a pistol smith to have that smoothed out. Over all I like this pistol better than the other 1911-22 rim fire models out there and I would buy again.

1 year agoThis pistol exceeded my expectations by a long shot. Without a rest at 25 yards 10 shots in a 4 " ring. Really fun to shoot, 400 rounds fired without a problem.

1 year agoGot it out to my range with my 12 year old today. 500 + rounds not one issue! Cci, remmington, winchester, and some old ammo my dad had in an old coffe can, it ate it all! Shoots like a dream. We both shot consistent 3 inch groups from 10 and 8 feet. A must have for 1911 fans. What a joy with me shooting my WWII 1911 and him with his 1911 22 A1. Breaks down just like the original browning. One negative. . .the front site. I had to put a dab of white paint pen on it for better sitght pick up. Go get this gun!

1 year agoAwesome little 1911 so cool and so cute. Shot about 500 rounds with it. Twice the slide didn't close all the way (had to push it closed myself) once had to repull the hammer. Other then that no problems. Shoots really nice. Stuck ten in a chew can at 10 yds. Would recommend this little gun to everyone. Like I said so cool and so cute.

1 year agoI bought this pistol for my daughter as her 13th birthday gift and she absolutely loves it. It took her a bit to figure out all the 1911 features, but she picked it up using a few dummy rounds. We put about 700 rounds through it the first day using it. The was absolutely no issues and we fed through some real cheap ammo. After a few mags she was able to easily hit a soup can at 20 to 40 feet. I was able to hit a pop can at 50m. The gun breaks down identical to a full size 1911 and is really easy to do. Remember to clean and oil it before the first use. The gun is a little pricey right now with the dollar, but I would recommend it anyways. It comes with a case, cable lock and only one mag. I did pick up a second mag and am considering a third. This would be a great gun for kids or any ladies just starting out. The smaller frame fits their hands really well. Bottom line, this is a reliable gun and is really cheap to shoot. I would recommend picking one up.

1 year agoBrowning did a great job reducing this pistol by 20% to make a wonderful 1911 in 22lr. After 500 rounds no problems observed shoots bulk ammo as well as nice CCI Mini-Mag and Federal. Take down and cleaning is very easy, assembly the same. Just like a real 1911 (oh it is a real 1911 just in 22lr). Only recommendation to Browning is make it 2 magazines instead of 1. I really like this firearm.

1 year agoThis is a smaller version of the same gun my dad and grandfather shot in the military. It's a fantastic little gun. It's not just a toy for a show piece. It functions as well as any other good .22 semi auto. It's breakdown is the same as all other 1911 pistols. For me, its reduced size actually fits my hand better. Even if I did not want this gun because of its uniqueness, I still would have purchased it based on how well it felt. The only downsides for me were the trigger, which is not quite as crisp as my Colt Commander, and the sights are the basic sights of the G.I. 45, so they are black. All that aside, I could not be happier with this firearm. I highly recommend it.

1 year agoBrowning fit, finish and performance on a 1911 platform, and downsized to fit your hand like a glove. How more perfect can you get?

1 year agoWent through about 1/3 of my .22 'bucket of bullets' with my daughter. Great fun, but it did jam 2-3 times, which was not a big deal as we were only target shooting. Easy to handle and operate.

1 year agoI have always liked the 1911 style pistol and decided to try out this one. Accuracy is excellent even with the simple sights. Breaks down for cleaning easily. Lightweight and small, maybe too small for large hands. Only complaint is the slide does not lock back always after the last shot is fired.

1 year agoThis gun is really fun to shoot. It’s accurate and easy to control. The magazine is my only complaint. Otherwise fantastic weapon.

1 year agoI have put at least a thousand rounds thru my Browning 1911-22 semi-auto without even one issue. Excellent pistol.

1 year agoThis was bought for my wife who didn't like her 9mm as she just wants to plink with it and maybe a snake or two. The grip fits her smaller hand quite well, though the same cannot be said of my hand as it is a bit small. Due to the shortage of ammo we have not shot it enough for me to review it for performance.
