Accuracy and adrenaline are woven into every aspect of the Savage A22. The semi-automatic 22 Long Rifle is powered by a straight-blowback action and uses the same thread-in headspace system as our centerfire rifles. It has a 10-round rotary magazine and the game-changing AccuTrigger, which allows for a crisp, user-adjustable trigger pull.

1 year agoI'm loving this gun! It runs great! Cycled perfectly with everything 970fps and up! The stock is designed for optics, which suits me just fine. If you plan on using the iron sights, then you're not going to like the high cheek weld! It does not come with scope bases, and you can't currently find 'Savage A22 bases' in Canada. Annoying, right? Well all you need to do is pick up two weaver bases at your local Cabelas that are marked as 48035. They're also known as the FRONT base for a Remington 700. Stripping this thing down for a cleaning is easy enough, but the dust cover can be annoying to reinstall. This rifle shoots great, and the accu-trigger is a blessing. Standard velocity seems to be the most consistent at longer ranges. But mini mags shoot great up to 50 yards! All in all, I have no regrets about purchasing this gun... Except for maybe the fact that it's $80 off this week and I got mine a month ago! But hey, if I would've waited then I might have missed my first coyote earlier this week. No regrets. I own three Savage rifles and I look forward to buying more. Happy Hunting!

1 year agoTook a chance on paying a bit more for this little semi auto than the cheaper choices, but it was well worth it. Great value and the features like the crisp and light accutrigger make it even better! I've run about 400 down the pipe so far and only had 2 failure to fire and zero failure to eject. The 2 ftf were the cheapest Winchester 36g hollow points. Every other brand I've tried works perfect. The only thing I find disappointing is that there are no extra mags to be found.

1 year agoBought this instead of other popular semi auto rimfires, and glad I did. Steel receiver, with an actual threaded in barrel. Sweet trigger. It's a tac driver

1 year agoWorked well right out of the box. Mounted a 3x9 and took into the range and dialled it in at 75 yards. Ran 400 rounds through it and the only feed jam was a round with a half seated lead. Reading other reviews I thought it came with two magazines and scope mounts, but that must only be in the USA.

1 year agoPicked up this rifle about two months ago and have put about 450 rounds through it. First 50 or so shots I had a lot of FTE, FTF, but I also didn't clean the gun before running it so I'm gonna chalk it up to that plus break-in. Has put 400 rounds downrange since flawlessly. Not one issue and is deadly accurate. Runs better than my buddy's ruger 10/22 who needed aftermarket parts right out of the box to feed and eject properly (a common 10/22 issue I've seen first hand, A LOT). Don't get caught up in the ruger hype and buy a gun that runs right out of the box. One minor inconvenience, unlike ruger not a lot of places stock parts for this gun including magazines. I had to special order magazines outside of cabela's, so I bought as many as I could so I wouldn't have to buy any ever again. The trigger is crisp and the adjustable savage trigger can be changed easily to suit any shooter. This gun also comes with an auto bolt release and can be thoroughly cleaned in 15 minutes. Pick up this gun, you won't be disappointed.

1 year agoAccurate right out of the box, unlike my Marlin xt bought the same day.Great trigger, and reliable function makes this little gun a winner.Made in Canada as well.

1 year agoI bought this the other day and it shoots well and it is very good but the scope rail is a normal 22. Scope mount and is a lot wider so make sure to get bigger scope rails.

1 year agoSteel receiver. Floated barrel. Adjustable trigger weight and good trigger, full size. This is a great 22lr. For the money you can't really beat it and honestly it beats most more costly 22lr. It likes cci mini mag 36 grain and may like more just haven't tried others. At 25 yards it'll shoot penny size groups. The first few magazines may have a few hang ups but after that it runs smooth. Plus easy remove dust cover for bolt and barrel access. It's a no brainer.

1 year agoThis feels great in the hands and deadly accurate. From a bench one ragged hole 25 yards with a Vortex 2x7 rimfire scope.

1 year agoNot the same gun as pictured. The A22 does not come with sights although there is a large picture showing sights and the description says adjustable sights. No holes drilled in the barrel to attach any. Ignore the pictures on PSA website and go to Savage Arms to see what you are getting. Wanted sight to teach my kids on. Looks like I have to add a scope.

1 year agoIt was easy to set up with scope and sight in... my grandson loves it! Savage rotary mag is a bit tricky for him but he’s adapting and overcoming :)

1 year agoVery accurate, long barrel (22" compared to 18" for most .22 rifles). NO SIGHTS - you MUST mount an optic. Extra magazines are scarce but I found some 25-round (make SURE you specify 22LR, not 22mag). Mine is picky about ammo - standard velocity had some problems but Winchester SuperX was 50% failures - wouldn't fire or wouldn't cycle or wouldn't feed or stovepiped, and using different mags made no difference. Mini-mags were flawless and shot 1" groups at 50 yards and it did 'okay' with CCI
