The SU16 series is designed, engineered and crafted to be the perfect everyday Sport Utility rifle. Differing primarily in barrel length and stock configuration, these gas piston operated, semi-auto rifles accept standard AR-15 magazines, with some models that store two spare, proprietary magazines in the stock. The SU16CA offers a threaded, 16 inches barrel as well as all the other features of both the A and B models. Every SU16 comes with adjustable sights, integrated picatinny-style rail for mounting your favorite optic and AR-15 magazine compatibility in a lightweight package.
Features:
Adaptable, durable, modular
Configurable – there are a few SU16 models and configurations to choose from to suit your needs, but all of them feature iron sights and an integrated Picatinny-style rail on top of the receiver to mount your favorite optic
Utility – if you know anything about KelTec, you’ll know that we like to keep things light and simple, the SU16 is an excellent choice for your go-anywhere 5.56 rifle
Reliable – all of the SU16 models are gas-piston operated which keeps fouling to a minimum where the magic happens, thanks to the long travel of the bolt carrier, the SU16 series rifles shoot smooth, flat and reliably

1 year agoSo I'll start with the cons: Factory mags are not the best, but they work. Rear sight is a ghost ring so not very accurate beyond 50 yards, and windage adjustment is fiddly (Tech Sights sells better ones specifically for this gun). Fit and finish leaves something to be desired, but that's not unusual considering the price. Had to do some plastic trimming and light polishing of the action. Mags can be hard to remove from the buttstock, but I guess that's better than them falling out

1 year agoI have always wanted one of these rifles as a backpacking gun and picked one up for birthday a couple years ago. It folds in half, Light weight, shoots 5.56/.223 rounds. The best part is you can carry 20 more rounds in the stock. I put a basic red dot and replaced the folding pin with a pin with a pull ring on it and now good to go!
