So, kind of a longer situation here. I'll say that I'm a moderately experienced gun owner, but had never owned a semi-auto rifle before. I was looking for a California legal firearm that didn't need any modifications, etc and the M1a fit the bill perfectly (also wanted a larger caliber rifle vs .556, etc.). Upon receipt, the FFL pointed out that the charging handle looked worn, and that it had actually worn a hole through the nylon case during shipment. Though I was annoyed, I still … Read More

I waited over a year for this rifle to come back in STOCK - since the beginning of the pandemic February 2020. I'm very glad to see that Springfield armory did not sacrifice any quality standards during this PANDEMIC. The rifle I received was near FLAWLESS, everything was in great SHAPE. Out of the box the rifle was near zeroed at 100 yards. Sighting it in was a BREEZE. The carrying case the rifle comes in was also a pleasant surprise. Overall very satisfied with my purchase.

Every American needs one of these. this is the design that won the free world last century. Reliable DEpendable accurate LIGhtweight. I like the modern Composite Option light weight and durable. USE SADLAK 3 point Mount for Optics.

Anyone with knowledge of the M1A rifle knows that these rifles are the epitome of a bad ass battle rifle. The M1A has classic good looks and its hard hitting 308 round is a powerhouse compared to 223/556. I own a 16" M1A Socom and wanted a bit longer barrel and went with the 18" M1A Scout. The Scout shoots a bit smoother than the Socom with less recoil. These rifles are on the pricey side, but having one and shooting it makes it all worthwhile. I bought mine with the black polymer stock, but … Read More

It's a M1A Scout Squad! Shoots great and shoulders perfectly. There are newer designs but this has been and still is the real deal.

This is an excellent rifle. It’s identical to the M-14 I used while serving in the US NAVY. Just a little shorter than the M-14 and semiautomatic.

Over looks and balance of the M1A is great! As for the rest I will let you know after I get the M1A clean and broke in ! Until then I can’ t give you a honest opinion! But I’am sure this rifle will live up to my expectations of being a quality fire arm given the reputation of Springfield Armory!

This is a super nice rifle. Not too heavy, and light recoiling, but being chambered in .308, it still hits hard on steel at longer ranges. Ordering from Guns.com was super easy. I'm thrilled with my purchase.

Great rifle l put a Burris 2/7/32 scout scope quick release mount so I can use the iron sights and a springfield military sling. Only shot 20 rounds so far I would recommend this rifle easy to use and clean.

There are far too many fraudulent online gun stores, guns.com was a perfect choice for my first online weapon transaction. Not only was the transaction as described throughout the entire process, but the rifle itself is of perfect quality too. Great site, and great products.

I saved up for months to be able to buy this gun and Guns.com couldn't have made it easier. Not a single problem with the rifle and I put well over 500 rounds of .308 through it the first weekend I got it. From start to finish, it took about a week from ordering the gun online to picking it up from my FFL. Will definitely be using Guns.com again i...Read More Read more about review stating Flawless rifle, flawless transaction.

I swapped out my plastic stock for a Boyds in walnut, and bedded it. What was originally a dream gun became a love affair.Emotions aside, it's a battle rifle, so don't look for bolt gun accuracy, but it shoots soft, hits all the steel, near simultaneously, and bedding the stock and torquing things just right can get you 4-5" groups at 200 yards pretty quickly, shooting surplus ammo.

I was able to hit 6" targets at about 110 yards without effort or any modifications. Comes with a single 10 round magazine and soft M1a carry case from Springfield Armory. Rebate included two 20 round magazines and a scope mount for free. Bought the optional Vortex 1-8 Strike Eagle that was discounted to $215 with the rebate offer. Would recommend to a friend and buy again!

...between the full size standard M1a and the SOCOM shorty. Mine's already resting in a USGI surplus walnut stock.

My first GI issued rifle was the M14 and after seeing the Scout for the first time many years ago at a local gun show I saved my pennies and now I own one. Bravo Zulu to Springfield Armory for keeping the M14 alive and well in the M1A.

This is a FUN GUN, was really surprised how well it performed. Don't take my word for it, watch and see for yourself and you decide what you think.
