When you need to put a shot pattern the width of a softball into the head and neck of a big Tom, you need a shotgun that aims like a rifle. The SXP Turkey comes with adjustable fiber-optic rifle sights, and is drilled and tapped for optics. The SXP is designed with a chrome-plated bore and chamber, which makes for easy cleaning, long barrel life, and above all, resistance to the harsh elements. We’ve also use black-chrome instead of traditional bluing on the bolt and other key components, giving them superior inherent lubricity for the most reliable cycling you can find in a pump shotgun. Please note that this model comes with a single (one) Invector-Plus X-Full Turkey choke tube. Other choke tubes are available separately. Synthetic stock with textured grip, back-bored barrel, One Invector-Plus Turkey choke, hard chrome-plated bore/chamber, TruGlo fiber-optic adjustable sights.
Features:
- Stocks are profiled for an ideal fit
- The advanced, high-strength alloy receiver is much lighter than steel
- The rugged rotary bolt design engages the barrel extension instead of the top of the receiver
- The inflex technology recoil pad utilizes directional deflection and a soft durometer for maximum comfort
- Convenient push button safety
- Faster pump-action, inertia assists you as you pump the forearm rearward to load for the next shot
- Most Super X pump hunting models are fitted with the Invector-Plus interchangeable choke system, it allows you to change choke constriction to the demands of the game being hunted or your shooting situation
- Synthetic stock with textured gripping surfaces gives your hands a sure, non-slip grip
- Back bored technology provides optimum shot patterns that are dense and even
- A 3-1/2 inches chamber in 12 Gauge gives you the power to reach out for those long-range turkeys
- Invector-plus extra-full turkey choke tube for a tight, dense pattern
- Hard chrome-plated chamber and bore make these surfaces highly resistant to wear and corrosion
- Alloy receiver is drilled and tapped for scope bases
- TruGlo fiber optic adjustable sights offer a fast, natural sight picture
- Rotary bolt with four massive lugs provides strength and solid lockup
- Drop-out trigger group allows for easy cleaning
- Cross bolt safety is easily operated, even with gloves
- Black chrome protection on the bolt and other components lasts longer than traditional bluing
- Inflex technology recoil pad directs felt recoil down and away from your cheek to reduce flinch and fatigue

2 years agoI bought this as my first shotgun, it has worked great and knocked down many geese. Also the intertia assist helps fire shots really fast

1 year agoAfter about 50 rounds through my sxp the metal holding the trigger housing broke/cracked off. Now can't load or cycle the gun at all. Had to send back to repair depot. Ruined my week hunt as I was without a gun. ..... would not trust it as a home defender untill they figure this out. I have seen on lots of boards that this is fairly common

1 year agoWas my first 20 gauge. Cycled nice but when I took it apart to clean it I noticed that the barrel bracket was coming loose. While I was taking pictures for warranty it came off completly. I probably only had a hundred rounds gone through it. Had to send it for repair in January and was just told it won't be untill September for the new barrel to arrive. This doesn't seem right for a company like Winchester.

1 year agoI bought this gun about 4 years ago and am generally happy with it. I use it mainly to shoot clays, and the recoil assist pump action allows for rapid firing when shooting doubles. There are some minor quality issues, and when cleaning I lost the firing pin spring once when it flew out of my hands on our front porch, but considering the price one can't expect perfection. Good firearm for someone looking for a relatively inexpensive but reliable shotgun.

1 year agoGot this gun around 4 years ago, once you get used to the inertia assist feature of this gun you will love it. I have this gun in 12g camo and 3 1/2 inch chamber. Terrific gun. Dont buy anything more expensive. plus semis are dangerous

1 year agoI bought the gun about a month back and the first time I went out shooting clays the gun jammed about 4 times through 50 rounds. I had to take the barrel off in order to clear the jam. I was really frustrated thinking I got a lemon, but once I tried running different ammo through it I never had that issue again. Don’t buy challenger target load if you own this gun. Other than that great gun!

1 year agoGun chambers rounds with ease and firs like a dream. I am very happy with my purchase. I would highly recommend this gun to anybody looking for something that works great, for a fair price. Very satisfied! :)

1 year agoI was very excited to finally buy the SXP Defender...but very first time shooting it was a problem. Would not feed shells and if it did it would not rack into chamber. Sent back to Winchester to fix. I have fired 13 shells.

1 year agoAfter 50 rounds, this thing jams Not fun at all, it’s oiled and clean, horrible quality wouldn’t recommend

1 year agoThis is the first gun I ever bought. Went to Cabella’s expecting to buy a .22 and walked out with this instead. The SXP can take a beating. I’ve put about 2500 rounds through her in just over a year and have no complaints. Jammed it on the 182 round, but it was user error as I was not yet used accustomed to the inertia assist and rechambered the empty round. Once you get used to the inertia assist, it’s like having a semi-auto if you want it to be. Keep your pump arm relaxed. The thing shoots fast. Just don’t put Challenger through it. I’ve had failures to chamber where the brass gets caught. I use primarily Clever and Federal and have never had trouble with either. Overall, shoots straight, easy to clean, super fun to shoot, great price for a reliable and well-made product, and a very pretty gun to have in the collection.

1 year agoI bought this gub 8 days ago, Nov 28th 2020 and shot it for the first time today. I shot two bullets and the forearm slide sheered in half. Literally broke on the inside of the gun. The gun is unusable.

1 year agoI bought this gun a month ago that’s why the 4 star rating. Shot about a 100 2 3/4 through it and it’s nice. Recoil is not as much as the brother in laws benelli nova. Will write a review after a few more clay shots and bird hunting with it.

1 year agoI bought the 28" barrel 3 1/2" and i love it. Takes a bit of time to get used to the rail sights. Once you are used to it, the butt pad takes the recoil well and the way its designed its quick to reload for the follow up shot as well as it pulls away from your face when shooting, unlike the 870 or 500. I like it so much i also ended up buying the defender version for home defense and grouse. You cant really customize them much but im not into that anyways. Its a solid well built shotgun

1 year agoBought it a couple weeks ago. Was happy until decided to clean and oil after test shooting. Can't unscrew a nut that holds forearm together with slide arm extention tube. I assume there is a rusty thread.

1 year agoThis gun is garbage. My friend recently got this as his first gun and it’s had no more than 20 rounds through it, it jams almost every other shot and requires the barrel to be taken off and the gun to be broken down fully just to eject the shell. Most recently today he took it on his first duck hunt and on his second shot it jammed, when he disassembled it to clear it the gun spat out the internal components sending the firing pin into the water. He now has no functioning gun for the season and I doubt Winchester will be of any help

1 year agoBought the 3" chambered version. Great to walk through the bush with. The pump has to be operated with some authority to eject shells, which is the reason for a 4 out of 5 star review. I can't feel the recoil when shooting upland game with 2 3/4 loads. I'd buy again.

1 year agoSo I've purchase three firearm's from Cabela's in Winnipeg in the last two years & all three went back for warranty repair. Maverick 88 home defense sent back for whole new trigger , waited close to a year to get it back , works great now! GSG 15 sent back , gun jams stove pipes 110 mag drum broke first time out who knows when I'll see it again back from warranty , Winchester sxp black shadow right out of the box miss fires , fail to eject absolute crap , sent it away for warranty. At least I have one firearm to use maverick 88 shoots anything I put through it, now I hope the gsg & Winchester come back working the same

1 year agoBought this shotgun for myself after Christmas and it had proven to be reliable for me, I’ve used it for rabbit hunting and now for snow geese hunting and is holding up really good. I’ve had some jams but it was mostly the shot shell not actually being 3 inches long. My gun is chambered in 3 inch at 12 gauge. Would recommend this gun most definitely if you are gonna use it for multi use.

1 year agoHave the 20 gauge version with 26" barrel. Went clay shooting and never have I ever broken so many. Fast shooting, well balanced, feels solid. Get used to the recoil jacking the bolt back partway and I believe it is the fastest pump out there.
