The X-Bolt Composite Stalker isn’t flashy but it is durable, accurate, well-thought-out, and has all the elegant lines and curves you’ll find on its prettier siblings. Most importantly it is capable of the overall exceptional accuracy that has caused the A-bolt to be compared with custom guns costing thousands more. Composite works harder. More and more hunters are turning to composite-stocked firearms for many reasons. Probably the biggest is that they no longer want to bang up that pretty Walnut stock. The X-Bolt Composite Stalker is an excellent rifle choice for deer hunting in conditions where a hunter may not wish to take the traditional Walnut stocked rifle. The X-Bolt Composite Stalker’s stock is made from tough, Composite material that can take a beating. Don’t think it would be slippery, unattractive or uncomfortable to fire. The stock is textured for a secure grip from forearm to pistol grip. It also has a comfortable palm swell. The black stock with a tint of gray has perhaps the most rugged appearance and performance of any Browning composite stock ever. The barrel, bolt, and receiver are also finished in a flat, durable non-glare surface. This is a rifle with all the deluxe features of the X-Bolt family, but rugged enough for the demanding hard-core deer, elk, and sheep hunters. Dark gray composite stock, matte blue barrel and action, detachable rotary magazine, short throw bolt, adjustable trigger, bolt-action scope not included.

1 year agoIt looks good and feels good. With a steady hand it will shoot 1MOA like most other manufacturers. Bolt cycles well, very smooth, it's right on par with my Tikkas. My Xbolt is in a 270win and shoots well. Recoil pad is great for sensitive shooters.

1 year agoI bought the stainless steel browning long range hunter in 300 win mag. While I like some of the features such as the trigger, and the synthetic stock the overall inaccuracy of the rifle defeats the stated purpose of a long range rifle. At best I can can get 2.5 in groups at 100 yards, where as my Tika, Remington and savage all will shoot under an inch in the same caliber. I repeatedly contacted Browning who never responded back to me. A gunsmith told me it is likely the stock but given the cost of the rifle I don't feel I should have to buy a new stock. Others in the gun industry including gunsmiths advised that you cannot upgrade or modify brownings like you can with other rifles. The scope and rings are all solid. My advice is to stay away from browning and go to a Tika, Remington, savage or anything but Browning.

1 year agoMy 30-06 is my go to gun for forest hunting where I know running shots can happen. Tack driver with my handloads. Last kill was a running whitetail buck, shot straight to the heart. Having a ligh, well built gun helped alot with target acquisition.

1 year agoI have 3 x bolts and all shoot great. Fit and feel are great. Not a long range shooter but for hunting and a little target shooting they work very well.
