Ruger American Predator 18″ .308 Win Rifle, Moss Green Stock – 6974
The Ruger American Predator Rifle with the ergonomic and lightweight moss green stock allows the shooter easy handling with modern forend contouring and grip serrations. It features the Ruger Marksman Adjustable™ trigger for a crisp release with a user adjustable pull weight between 3-5 pounds. The one-piece, three-lug bolt with 70° throw provides ample scope clearance and utilizes a full diameter bolt body and dual cocking cams for smooth, easy cycling from the shoulder.
Patent-pending Power Bedding®, integral bedding block system positively locates the receiver and free-floats the barrel for unmatched accuracy. A heavier tapered, threaded barrel is cold hammer-forged, resulting in ultra-precise rifling that provides exceptional accuracy, longevity, and easy cleaning.
A visible, accessible, and easy-to-actuate tang safety provides instant security. The rifle also offers a reliable rotary magazine that fits flush with the stock and offers the smooth feeding that is expected of Ruger rotary magazines. The soft rubber buttpad is designed for less felt recoil for continued accuracy shot after shot.

2 years agoWhat a fantastic rifle. Straight out of the box I had 3/4 moa groups. Even with the $75 scope I had lying around, with budget ammo 7.62X51 m80's. Crisp trigger, solid STOCK.

2 years agoSuper smooth action, the gun is lightweight with a smooth super light trigger pull and the 18 inch threaded barrel makes it perfect for suppressors, without being super long.

2 years agosold the first one i had and that was a mistake. The new modualr version makes it easy to add an acis box magazine. rifle is accurate and compact. Shoots super sconic and sub sconic ammo with equal acccuracy. The threaded barrel allows for a muzzle break or suppressor. Ruger quality, what more can I say.

2 years agoAfter asking every trusted person I know, and having them tell me this rifle takes AICS mags. I purchased one and find that I now have to buy an additional kit to make it work. Long time supporter of Ruger. Next time it will be something else.

1 year agoOverall, I was pleased with the rifle--until I shot it. The bore for the ejector pin was not chamfered and scraped brass off the casings which jammed the pin and kept the bolt from ejecting the brass. This happened when the rifle was test fired, as none of the rounds I fired showed any damage. I feel a closer inspection should have been made before the rifle was shipped. However, Ruger was good about warrantying the repair, except they required the entire rifle be returned, not just

1 year agoI like the gun, it didn’t kick very much, and the groups were with in an inch at 100 yards. I would recommend this gun, it’s very good for the price.

1 year agoWe bought this gun last year and have been able to shoot it quite a bit. For the price, it’s more accurate than it should be. Not long ago, I shot cloverleaf at 100 yards with off-the-shelf ammo. The only thing I don’t like about it is the way it fits me. If you’re smaller, it might not be a good fit. 1 year agoCheap Stock, first item replaced. Loud safety mechanism. Bolt makes loud zipper noise, had to polish it. Otherwise for the price point I am really happy so far.

1 year agoGun is great. Only flaw is that the rotary mag wants to hang up on the last round. Make sure you get the one with the ar mag and your all good.

1 year agoWould be a 5 star other than the stock. The weight, action, trigger and the group I get from the barrel are all excellent. I guess for an affordable rifle I shouldn’t complain about the stock but with a little upgrade Ruger American would be a complete package.

1 year agoSuper happy with my Ruger Predator, one of my best purchases. Such a great quality built rifle by ruger and very affordable. Added Vortex rings and scope and Harris bi-pod. Made my purchases from Sportsman’s warehouse and couldn’t be happier. Everyone was knowledgeable and a joy to work with during my purchases. Definitely my one stop shop for all my sporting goods!

1 year agoJust keeps getting better! 1/2 MOA at 200yds so far. Shooting Federal Premium 165g Trophy Cooper. Topped with Leupold 3-9x40 old Rifleman scope I had. Amazing for 18" barrel!

1 year agoFirst hunting rifle…Definitely worth the money. The thread barrel makes it so I could put a muzzle break on it, and in the future a silencer.

1 year agoReally a well crafted rifle. It picks up feeling rock solid, and it has tight tolerances. I liked it so well I have three, 243, 7mm-08, and 308.

1 year agoGreat light and portable rifle. Adding the Sharps Bros Heatseeker chassis makes this thing a game changer!

1 year agoThis gun has been great. I bought a basic muzzle brake from Ruger and it significantly reduces the recoil but it is very loud. I mounted a Vortex Crossfire 4-12x40mm scope and it was on paper at 100 yards out of the box. I've been very pleased with the set up.

1 year agoSweet little gun for shooting. Set 1”-1.5” 4 round spreads straight out of the box at 100 yards. And with a name like Ruger, I intend to hand this down to my grands, in 20 something years.

1 year agoLoooove this rifle, great out of box, incredibly light; only thing i would say is add in an extra rubber pad on the end of the .308 variant due to the kick being less absorbed with such light material

1 year agoI really like this rifle especially the bolt action and the trigger - both very smooth out of the box. I'm sure it's more accurate than I am at 71! I don't hunt, but I imagine the 18-in barrel would be pretty maneuverable.
