i liked the maverick 88 because it had good reviews and GAG also had good reviews. I love it. Great shotgun for my home protection needs. Fun, powerful gun and easy to use. Perfect for the first-time shotgun user. I am still working to understand the different ammo options but I enjoy shooting it at the range.

I bought this shotgun not knowing much about it. I was under the impression it was just a cheap throw away gun for ok home defense but I was wrong. Have ran around 250 shells through it and it works great. The recoil didn't bother me at all (6'2, 190lb male) even after half a day of shooting. The pad on the stock looked fairly inexpensive upon first glance but, it actually absorbed the majority of the kick. Have shot 6 or 7 other shotguns, mostly 12 gauge, and this Mossberg is my favorite.

Love my Mossberg Maverick Security 88. Sportman's price is affordable it's perfect for home defense. Only able to shoot Slugs at the range. It's addicting & can't wait to take her out again.

I like Mossberg shotguns and would buy this again. The length of pull is much shorter than other models. It's almost a compact size, which for home defense is fine by me. Definitely would recommend for designed purpose.

I’ve been wanting a shotgun for home safety after selling my previous Remington 15 years ago (for some unknown reason) I’ve been looking at Mossberg for quite a while and doing my research on how well their shotguns are made, I’ve found that they’re the best you can buy and don’t break or jam when needed. I mainly purchased mine for home safety from intruders to Coyotes that could do harm to my Dog.. hopefully I never need it but if I do it’s good to know I did my homework and made the best purchase I could with information that I found available.

Good price and quality I changed my forend with magpul. You’ll need a 500 action tube to do that. Overall great home defense gun.

Love it. I wanted a shotgun for home defense. I've been to the shooting range a few times to get used to it. It is easy to shoot and exactly what I was looking for without breaking the bank.

Home defense 7+1 for under $250, you will not find a nicer built gun out of the box for that price. Feels perfect, looks great, shoots amazing without breaking the bank on a firearm that can deliver when you need it to.

This is an all around great home defense shotgun. You cannot go wrong with the Mossberg name and the Maverick 88 is it. Yes you can spend way more on other shotguns but why when this will get the job done and keep me and my family safe at home

I just got mine today 6-9-22 and she's still a virgin BUT so far she looks outstanding and hopefully i'll be taking her out in the country and a virgin she will be no more...
