2 years agoGreat long-range rifle. Sub-MOA at 100 yards. Added an Athelon Argos BTR scope with sunshade and it is a great setup out to 1200 yards. Magpul bi-pod, case, shooting mat and you are all set. Hornady 147gr Match ammo is consistent every shot.

2 years agoThere isn’t a think I don’t like about this rifle. Just don’t think you’re gonna carry it around,it’s not terrible but a little heavy.

2 years agoI recently purchased this Ruger Precision III rifle in .308 from Cabela's and was quite surprised about how easy it was to become "that sharpshooter" .. I hooked up a Vortex Diamondback 16x40 scope on it and off to the range I went. After bore siting it at 30 yards, I moved the target out to 100 yards and released the first round. Unbelievable! in the photo enclosed shows the only 'flyer' at low and SW .. a few clicks later on the Vortex, and the second round placed 2" to the NW.. last 4 rounds? I could place my thumb over all 4 rounds! I was literally dumbfounded! I've never shot like that in my life! and right out of the box! My friends at the range saw me packing up my stuff, and asked why I was leaving so soon? "I don't like to waste ammo" was my response.. after the range went cold, I retrieved my target, and those friends couldn't believe it either.. Ruger has made a good one here!

1 year agoI bought this rifle in 300 PRC, and it is a monster. Outfitted with a Vortex Strike Eagle, this rifle will shoot sub MOA at 200 yds with the average shooter (me). My normal round is Hornady Match. I have only shot it at 200 yds, because that is longest range I have had access to, but plan on taking it to 500, then 1000 yds before the end of summer. Maybe not as accurate, I would consider this gun in 300 WinMag if I had it to do over again because of ammo cost and availability. This gun properly set up with a scope and bipod will cost in the vicinity of $3100 to $3500. Really depends on the optics you choose.

1 year agoHas a lot of features. Shoots very well. Offers big league performance. First outing. Due to the current pricing of ammo was not using a 3/5 shot grouping. Dialed for center then out to a mile on a 66%ipsc, a diamondback tactical 6-24ffp, and factory ammo.

1 year agoOnly fired 15 rounds through this rifle so far. Shooting Winchester Deer Season XP 150gr from Wal Mart. 3 shots at 50 to make sure on paper. Next 3 shot group at 100 yards measured only .78 inches. Let my son shoot a few and then I shot a .64 3 shot group. Weather was cold and wet and almost dark. Can't wait to get out and shoot some more. Recoil is minimal because of the weight. Great rifle!

1 year agoRuger has a instant hit with this rifle, it is very well built, comfortable to shoot, and love the adjustable trigger...might have to consider the .338 now

1 year agoAbsolutely awsome weapon, accufrate strait out of the box. a gentle giant with the recoil of a 6.5 with no muzzle brake. my wife and daughter enjoys shooting this rifle with accuracy out to 870 yds

1 year agoI Couldn’t be happier with this rifle. It replaced my 30 year old 300 win mag. This is also my second ruger precision Rifle. The first is a 6.5 CreedmoOr which helped me make my mind up for this purchase. For the money you can’t get more rifle and features than you get with this rifle.

1 year agoTHis rifle is awesome. Quality made. Such a beast, thsts what every person that holds it. Just getting Used to it, so far Very accurate. ToPped with voRtex venOm scope. Recoil is super controlled. Such an easy shooter. Does blow everything off the table wIth that awesome tanker muzzLe break, ACTUALLY broke glasses when they flew off the table. I had a box of empty shells on the table and it scattered them all over the place. Good lesson With my glasses. I wou definitely RECOMMEND this rifle!!!!!

1 year agoGreat rifle ! .30 moa group at 100 yards within my first 10 rounds fired. Using hand loads. She's heavy but that just makes it better to shoot. The ruger break works way better than expected. All around great buy. 1780$ is more than I paid though

1 year agoFirst time in awhile since I’ve smiled. After I zeroed my scope (Vortex PST gen ll) awesome scope. This .300 win mag is one tack driver. I didn’t even have to adjust the scope out to 400 yards I just held the cross hairs on target and every time I pulled the trigger in rang still. I wished I had somewhere to shoot that is further out, say 1000 yards to 1mile. I was amazed at how manageable the recoil is on this rifle.

1 year agoThis is without a doubt the best firearm I’ve ever owned. It’s awesome to shoot, very accurate and just plain awesome! I’ve run a few hundred rounds through it since I got it in mid December 2019 and I guess I’m lucky enough to have a 1000 yard range within 7 miles of me. Ruger knocked it out of the zip code with this model.

1 year agoThis was in stock, so I purchased it. Three days later I receive an email stating my order was canceled because they were out of stock. DUH !!!

1 year agoI read a review that another buyer bought one of these, After the sale they can back and it was out of stock. I hoped that it would not be the case for me. But it was. This is not the issue. They had a pending transaction remaining on my card for more than a week. Just know that they will lock your money down for more than a week

1 year agoArticle said rifle was LNIB, and it wasn't lying. Slapped a thermal on it and went to the range the very next day. Shoots 105gr Hornady Black ammunition very well. 10/10 would recommend.
