The Silver Pigeon I Sporting offers all the functional features of our premium over-under competition shotguns at a particularly attractive price. It is built around the best-in-class 686 action, which is compact and low-profile while being extremely strong. The Optima-Bore, Optima-Choke barrels are light-weight and place the shotgun’s point of balance right at the hinge-pin, meaning lively feel in the hands and natural pointability. And with its select-walnut stock and tasteful scroll engraving, the Silver Pigeon I Sporting won’t fail to turn heads at the range, also thanks to its unmistakeable Beretta looks.
Features:
- Natural pointability, swing
- Extreme durability
- Flawless fit and finish
- Floral engraving – the receiver of the 686 is embellished with traditional designs reminiscent of the British and European gunmaking schools
- Floral engraving – the geometry of the scrolls is proportioned to match the elegance of the receiver, as well as to complement the overall lines of this perfectly-balanced shotgun
- Locking lugs
- Cold hammer forged barrel – no matter how great a shotgun’s action and how impeccable the balance, the shot must first travel through the barrel in order to make it to the target
- Monoblock receiver – the monoblock receiver on the 686 makes lock-up positive and vault-like, and greatly enhances the durability of the gun even after many long seasons of hard use
- Schnabel – the schnabel forend adds a touch of old-world flare to the 686 Silver Pigeon I Sporting, guiding the eye even better along its smooth lines
- Select walnut – Beretta shotguns such as the 686 Silver Pigeon I Sporting are designed to catch the eye as well as perform flawlessly at the range or in the field

1 year agoIn my first outing I hit 28 clays in a row. Great sighting ability and pointing accuracy from a 500 year old gun maker.

1 year agostarting with the gun. It's a spot on shooter. Ran 50 straight in trap, 25 through the bottom tube, and the next 25 through the top tube. Nothing but smoke. I haven't had a chance to hit the sporting clay range yet, but I'm sure it will rock. Next I'd like to address the customer service I received from the Cabelas store in Kalispell MT. Nothing short of superb! I purchased this gun over the phone, and Chris made it easy. Thank you sir!

1 year agoI bought this gun for shooting sporting clays and it’s a clays buster. Great balance and great action!

1 year agoBought for sporting clays and doves. Left the store and took it to a dove field where it got some light drizzle. Even though it was dried off, when I got home there were permanent water marks on the stock that should never have happened. After some online research, found out it's a common issue with grade I guns with an oil finish but was easily fixed with some very light sanding and danish oil. Great gun but Beretta should do a little more before it leaves the factory. Everything else about the gun is what I would expect from Beretta. Listed weight is incorrect. My 12 ga with 30 inch barrels weighs in at 7lbs, 13oz.

1 year agoLove this over under shotgun. It fits me nicely and has 5 fluish chokes to choose from. It's easy to clean and comes with a decent case. One issue I had was my thumb sometimes switches barrel selector on accident when I reload. I wish the selector was a little harder to move. The case is just ok because it needs padding like what you get when you order the higher end Berettas. Other than that, I'm very satisfied with my purchase. I came from a Remington 1100 and the fit was similar to that in my opinion. Both felt great for my 6'1, 190lb bod. This shotgun is made for right handed shooters fyi. The stock is canted to fit better so I don't think this would be suitable for lefties.

1 year agoCouldn’t be happier with this Beretta! Nicely balanced and (for me) patterns appropriately for a sporting gun. YMMV Action was harder to open/close out of the box compared to other new 680 series guns I own, but will “wear in” nicely.

1 year agoFront sight was lose try to put it back and didn’t get back straight like there was not enough tread. Wood on it looks better on the picture then in real. Overall great shotgun worthy

1 year agoI had shot this gun several times before I decided to buy my own, but having your own has no comparison. She shoots well, fits me well, and handles like a dream. Glad I made the investment in my own!
