The all-new 224 Valkyrie was built to defeat wind drift and drop and with the 60 grain Nosler Ballistic Tip these rounds maximize ballistics with a sleek, thin-jacket, polymer-tipped bullet. Its explosive expansion provides a violent energy release on impact for quick kills on varmints and predators.

1 year agoI just bought the new Savage Recon in 224 Valkyrie and really like this rifle. First I love the two stage trigger, it is very lite and smooth. Having to get use to that. I have not had a lot of range time with this yet because I have a very sick mother.i have just retired and will do another review later. This is a few things I know now. First this is a little heavy, but not to the point I would not just target practice with it. The 60gr shoot nice and smooth and ejection at about 2 o'clock. I

1 year agoI would highly recommend this chambering and ammo for busting prairie dogs. I have a 223 upper and this Valkyrie with a noted difference in trajectory and wind tolerance. I would say that this upper swap is like going half-way between a 223 and 22-250 in terms of field performance without burning way more propellant or the slight increase in recoil. However, being on an AR helps with the recoil. The ammo performed very well in my setup with 300 to 400 yards shots becoming easier over the 223

1 year agoThis was a very satisfying experience! I used Palmetto parts and purchased ammunition from them! Accuracy is incredible and reproducible.

1 year agoI took a black bear at 80 yards that destroying a cornfield. Aimed right behind the ear and it dropped in its tracks. Great penetration.

1 year agoAs with all new builds I ran several types/weights of cartridges through my LWRCI/Proof build. My .224 Valkyrie likes these 60gr pills the best. Super accurate and consistent, 1/2 to 1 MOA depending on me. It's got plenty of energy to leave no doubt on coyotes.

1 year agoSo far it's a reliable, flat shooting, & accurate round out of an 18" Ballistic Advantage premium series barrel w/ YHM suppressor. The coyotes I've killed with it have dropped in their tracks.
