I have used an old Remington 1100 12 gauge for about 25 years. My primary use was pheasants. I had my shooting shoulder replaced about the time I retired. That gave my the excuse to find a shotgun with less kick than my old 1100 so I purchased a 12 gauge Xplor with kick off system. This gun is much lighter, easy to clean, shoots much faster (I need a second shot often) and its light weight makes it easier to pack around the fields hour after hour. In three years of much more hunting for dove, quail and wild pheasants and about 150 rounds per year at the Wing and Clay club (clays, pheasants and chuckar) the gun has performed perfectly. Now that my shoulder has healed, I am considering getting the same Xplor with kick off in a 20 gauge. Get one, you will love it!!

Brought this in 28 gauge back in May. Put several hundred rounds thru iit with no issue , waiting for dove season. One thing about this shotgun it doesnt get dirty . , the piston is serated so it scrapes all the carbon away , I clean my shotguns everytime we shoot , the A400 makes it so all dirt is loose and just wipes away . My first Berreta , very inpressed with this shotgun.

I highly recommend this shotgun for hunting. It is super light, functions flawlessly, and has never malfunctioned in the 500 rounds I've shot through it so far. I debated between buying this gun or the blue version A400 Excel. I wanted an all-around shotgun that I could use for hunting, skeet, 5-stand, and sporting clays. I am left handed and have never owned a true left handed shotgun so I went with this gun over the blue version A400 Excel for that reason. Even though I am happy with thyou gun so far, I do not think it is a great gun if you plan to use it solely for sporting clays. For me, the gun is too light and isn't heavy enough to be a serious sporting clays gun. I bought the 28" barrel and wish I would have gotten the 30" version instead. I've added Briley extended choke tubes and a weighted firearm cap and still the gun is lighter than I'd like for sporting clays. There just isn't a lot of weight in the stock and receiver. That is my only real complaint. I am still mixed about whether I like the scope grooves on the receiver. They don't seem to bother me but every once in a while I can see them when mounting the gun if I don't cheek it hard and that is a bit distracting. I still think this gun will be a great all around gun and can't wait to hunt with it but if I were looking solely for a sporting clays gun, I would recommend the A400 Excel instead.

I have this gun but in the 28 gauge model and i mainly use it to shoot clay pigeons and doves and it definitely gets the job done. Since I have got the gun I have not walked out of a dove field with out a limit (15 birds). This gun cycles through shells very easy and is very easy to clean. Also, there is not much recoil which is great for everyone but especially elders and young kids learning how to shoot. Definitely worth the price!

Had this gun for a year now , amazing , actually self cleaning . Low recoil point and feels right . Just a great shotgun . The wood is beautiful for a off the shelf gun

I was hesitant to consider a 12 gage due to my damaged shoulder and desire to avoid surgery. I tried several O/U 20 gage and was ready to buy one but demo'd a Beretta A400 12 gage semi auto and was impressed. I decided to go lightweight with 28" Xplor model with "KickOff" recoil upgrade. I have been to the trap range twice with my A400 and each time have set new highs for the number of clays! The extra recoil protection, the dependability and accuracy are everything I had hoped for. Not inexpensive but worth every cent and Cabela's service is great. I couldn't be happier!

I bought this a year ago and in to my second season. I had slight fitting adjustment. I love the way it shoots and feels. It is easy to clean as well. I have shot a lot of skeet with it now, about 2500 rounds. It has never jammed on me not even with the low base shell/reload. When I have shot 31/2", it does not feel bad it at all. I am very happy with this gun. Looking in to a Beretta Silver Pigeon over under now.

I bought this A400 for an upcoming dove & quail hunt and was so proud until it wouldn't cycle shells. Basically became and single shot at that point. Took it back to the dealer 3 times and still had problems with different loads. Finally they gave me my money back and I bought an Ethos which I have used for a year now and love everything about it. The fit and finished of the Ethos is a step up from the 400 but is more expensive as well. I do have a Beretta AL390 and like it very much.

I bought the 20 gauge in 2016. It wouldn't cycle any lighter loads. Had to send mine in for repair as so many others have. They did fix the problem and now it works great. Love the gun now.

I have the Trap version (longer barrel and a blue receiver) It has been flawless. Never a jam or misfire. Perfect every time out. It is light, awesome looking wood/hardware, and very easy maintenance. The only con is that the gun has some noise(due to kickoff springs) it isn't noisy by any means, it is just different. It would be a dif. experience if you were coming from a pump or over/under field/trap/sporting gun. The best part of all...... Can run HEAVY duty magnums w/o any pain in shoulder. It is a joy to shoot. Won TOP GUN with it and took home 200$ The first match it was in. :Good stuff.

Purchased 12ga last year. Took out west with me. It knocked down my limit on pheasants. Great gun to carry all day out in the field. One of my favorites.

Bought this gun for my wife to shoot sporting clays in 12GA. Gun is very light, maneuverable and recoil is pretty much non existent relatively speaking.

Bought this gun last year. have had problems with cycling shells. was told it needed a break in period. gun requires heavy loads to cycle shells. after close to 1,000 rounds the action broke. Trying to get berreta to respond to service for submitted.

If you’re looking for a dependable, high quality shotgun, this is the one. Kick off technology for low kick action is great. Beautiful finishes (bronze plating gets a lot of compliments). For sport clays, it shoots Fiocchi, Winchester shells the best; had some jamming issues with Browning shells.

This is an awesome gun at a great price at grabagun. The shotgun does EverytHing i need it to. Great for clays, BIrds and deer. The fiT and finiSh on these berettas is better than ive ever had. Get the kick off. You wont be disappointed. As far as the experience with grabagun. It was on point. I read several bad reviews and was hesitant. But my experience was great. The gUn shipped in less than a weEk in the middle of christmas holiday. I was impressed! I SHipped it to my local academy … Read More

I've dreamed of owning this model of Beretta since it was released from the factory. It's absolutely beautiful from stock to barrel and is ready out of box for a full day at the range.

Nice gun. Worked like it was supposed to right out of the box. Light shooting and hits the clays like it should

My beretta a400 Xplor Action 12 gauge is the best shotgun I've ever owned. It has tolerable recoil and way less recoil than a benelli... When I shoulder it, it is dead on and points perfectly. I have not had any issues with it. It does half to be cleaned quite frequently because it is a gas operated gun but if you keep it clean it will not have any issues. I use mine for deer hunting with dogs, duck hunting, and dove hunting and it is perfect for all hunting i do... I strongly suggest buying this shotgun if you are wanting to hunt or shoot clays!

Beautiful shotgun. I'm very proud to own it. I am having some problems with the chamber reset or release button. I find it to be very hard to depress to get the gun loaded and unloaded. I'm very hopeful that it's just due to needing break-in time. If I can't get it to work easier, I'll have to get it to a gunsmith to see what can be done.
