2 years agoI purchased the ethos 12 gauge/26 inch barrel this summer. I haven't taken it pheasant hunting yet but have shot a ton of clays with it, using both 1oz target loads, as well as put field loads through it (1 1/4 oz. and 1 3/8oz.). I have not had one jam yet. The recoil has been very manageable despite its light weight. Frankly, I find the recoil to be less than my SBE2 with the same shotshells, even though the SBE2 is quite a bit heavier (and also a great shotgun). I would recommend this gun for upland hunting.

2 years agoI've had this gun for about 4 months. I bought it from Bass Pro. I use it for sporting clays-figuring I needed a gun that forced me to be more precise with the shot. The finish is fantastic, its so easy to strip and clean. It stays very clean. I have several other shotguns (Beretta 686, Beretta A400 Xtreme and Beretta A400 Xplor 20 gauge) and this one stays the cleanest. It has never jammed. I used ammo from 3/4 oz to 1 ounce. 7.5 shot to 9 shot. 1200-1300fps. When firing the 1300 fps ammo you can feel the kick because the gun is so light. I found it a little too whippy so I added a 6oz Briley weight. That did the trick. I found the factory chokes worked well. I also had some Brileys made. It really crushes clays at 30-35 yards with the IM choke. Skeet good to 20 yards. The sight rail is a little narrow, takes some getting used to. The drop and cast adjustments you can do to this gun are great. I am a lefty and I configured it for a lefty and I like a 55mm drop at the comb. Sweet gun, may favorite and I think I am going to get a 20 gauge Ethos next.

1 year agoMy sister purchased this gun for me as a retirement gift. What a gun! I have the 20 Ga and it is the best balanced gun I have ever held. Another great feature is the ease of take down for storage and cleaning. I comes with a fitted case and a full set of 5 chokes. I couldn't be happier.

1 year agoI have the 20g in 26" barrel. The light weight and great handling of this piece is amazing. Action is super smooth. Shoulders perfectly. Shot a near perfect score at skeet out of the box. I will have to ding Benelli for the case. Completely unusable, takes a superman to snap the latches. Great buy. highly recommend!

1 year agoMy wife recently started shooting sporting clays. She used my Beretta 686 O/U 12GA and could not stand the recoil. We bought the Ethos because of the claimed recoil reduction system. It works better than I expected. She can shoot 100 rounds without complaint and her scores are improving. She couldn't be happier.

1 year agoI purchased from our local Cabela's after going back and fourth between a Beretta x400 Xcel Sporting, The Benelli SuperSport or, this Ethos. I chose the Ethos over the SS purely for the aesthetics. I know, it means nothing in shooting performance. I really like the engraving and the AA-grade walnut. The reasons I chose the Benelli over the Beretta are: 1 The Benelli is 1 pound lighter and only 2" shorter. 2. The Benelli is easier to clean. 3. The Benelli will shoot even the lightest loads that the Beretta will not feed. In short, I liked them all and very much and would like to own them all. However, the Ethos is a better suited shotgun for my particular needs.. It's light, very fast, eats anything even REALLY old 7/8oz 2-3/4" shells, swings and transitions like glass.

1 year agoThis shotgun shoots nice. Great purchase, I have shot only clays so far, can’t wait for bird season.

1 year agoI bought my Ethos less than a month ago and after dove hunting the past two weekends, I love it. It is super light and swings smoothly and effortlessly. I enjoy my SBE3 but the Ethos is my favorite!! Great field gun! Can’t wait to go quail hunting.

1 year agoLove the rifle! Shoots great and the inertia system works flawlessly. The only cons, the Rogers, MN location was super unprofessional when it comes to where I should pick up the rifle. Also, the case that housed the rifle had exterior and interior damages which I didn't see until I got home. Will purchase from Cabelas again, but not at this location!!!

1 year agoBought the Benelli Ethos from Bass Pro in November. Had a good purchase experience there. Good salesman, very helpful. My problem though is with the gun. Beautiful looking gun, light weight, handles nicely. But it jams, a lot. It's the typical second shot fail to feed. It's got worse with each outing. Went bird hunting the other day. It jammed three times in firing the gun six times. All FTF. This is not a cheap gun. I am really, really, disappointed. This thing should be dead reliable. Now I have to go through the time consuming business of sending it out for repair or whatever. Website says to expect delays in repairs. From what I've been reading "repairs" are often not successful. I will find out. But this gun is the latest and greatest yet Benelli has had time to work out any bugs, but they have not. Do not buy this gun. I cannot recommend Benelli shotguns.

1 year agoI cannot be happier with a shotgun than I am with the ETHOS. I have shot other shotguns but they do not compare to it. The design is beautiful and the recoil system works great. The only time I had a FTF was with bad ammo. You should ignore the 1 star review for it because I have shot close to 2000 rounds out of it and the only FTF came from low quality ammo. With 20 Guage ammo hard to get, I am going to trade my 12 Guage M2 for a 12 Guage ETHOS!! P.S. The first day I took my buddy to shoot, he went and bought his own ETHOS and now his wife jokes that we're the Benneli Bros :)

1 year agoBought this gun on Saturday and took it out Sunday and shot about 150 rounds through it. No problems at all. Very light, smooth shouldering, NO JAMS. This isn't my first Benelli, everyone needs to make sure they are following the recommended load to use set out by Benelli for their shotguns. Overall, I am very pleased with this gun.

1 year agoBeautiful gun for skeet and upland shooting. Lighter than my 1976 Franchi with great modern features.

1 year agoBeautiful Gun, going along to Iowa next week for pheasants. Natural fit without adjustment for me. Gun was advertised with AAA grade walnut. I believe mine was maybe AA for the stock and A for the fore end. Slightly disappointed with wood grade.

1 year agoGreat gun. Much lighter than I expected. Trigger was a little tight at first, but loosened up after a little oil and cleaning.

1 year agoI have used the 20ga version for 2 years for grouse and clays. I like it better than the performance shop super sport. Pros: Light, shoulders well, points well, shoots well, variety of shims for drop and cast, minimal recoil, easy disassembly, easy to clean, quality carry case, quality wood with nice checkering, easy to remove fore end cap, 5 interchangeable chokes, 3 interchangeable front sights, easy to remove fore end plug, improved with detent in the bolt that prevents the infamous “Benelli Click”, able to shoot light loads, nice looking, sleek and has an excellent feel. I bought another one. Cons: price, safety is stiff and small, trigger is heavier than the shotgun.

1 year agoThe staff at Guns.com was very helpful, they were able to expedite my order in time for me to receive it before my vacation. The Shotgun was in mint condition, this is my second time buying from guns.com and I have also sold my handgun to guns.com, would definitely recommend them again !
