Smith and Wesson hit a home run with this handgun. The small size coupled with easy shooting and 13 rounds in the magazine may very well make this the ultimate concealed carry handgun. The Plus is the same size as the regular Shield, but just a bit longer. Adding the optic on top makes it a bit taller than the regular Shield, meaning that holsters for the regular Shield won't fit. I purchased this pistol for home protection and CCW. Its another great S&W that is ported and has a red dot and also it came out of the performance shop! The fit and finish are very nice I really like it and it is a joy to shoot! So far I have no complaints about the S&W Shield plus its a great Pistol like all S&W's I have owned. Thanks Brownell Great Job as always!!! It did not hurt that Brownell and S&W have a rebate right better hurry!

I love the M&P9 Shield plus performance center 9mm! The trigger pull is very comfortable and the Crimson Trace red dot sight has improved my aim tremendously. I give it a 5+.

An exceptionally crafted firearm! Perfect shots right out of the box. I've been shooting the M&P 9 Shield 2.0 and while I live that little gun, there is no comparison! Smith and Wesson is the best!

This is an exceptional pistol for my needs. I have never had any feed or eject issues - I mainly use norma, federal, fiocchi and magtech. My only issue was with the rear sight which is my issue and not the pistol itself. i replaced the oe green with the black tubes That made it easier to focus on my front sight - it took all of about 5 minutes to exchange. This is my personal best carry handgun. And wow what a improvement to the trigger over my original Shield 40cal. Only short coming is no rail for a light or laser.

I changed my order from the Crimson Trace Red Dot equipped Shield Plus to the regular Shield Plus. As I researched further, the CT Red Dot didn’t get very good reviews. So for $300 less I bought a better optic and have sent out my slide to get it milled to accept the optic. My out of pocket brings the cost up to the cost of the CT equipped gun with a much better Red Dot. Haven’t shot it yet, but I just got delivery of 1K rounds of range ammo and will be putting a lot of rounds through it before the end of the Summer.

Maybe it's this specific gun, but the +1 doesn't work. Can't get a full magazine in with one in the chamber, with either magazine. Gun shoots straight and with little recoil.

Accuracy, well it's an M&P and if you cant ring out the X with it , trust me its you not the pistol....Sorry!. The extra sight radius does make it fun to ring steel at ridiculous distances and A zone hits are a breeze at normal distances as well ..lol Capacity - well that's a win for sure Nice trigger for a factory flat face …. a bit to much initial travel but the reset on mine was 1911 like (1/8"), which is impressive. Fast follow up shots The fibers are super bright but daytime

Yes, it has the Ported barrel and the competition (Apex) Trigger very nice to shoot and very accurate for a striker fire pistol

I upgraded my original m&p shield to this model and have not looked back. This shield has lived up to all expectations.

It’s easy to operate with very little recoil. The sights are amazing. The gun fits in my hand very comfortably.

The shield plus performance is a great upgrade from the original shield, but no matter what the shield is a great gun. You can't go wrong with the shield for self protection in my opinion. I traded my Shield for the Shield Plus. Wow!! This pistol feels great and shoots even better. Mine came with night sights. I love it!!!

First of all the shield they sent me was clearly used. I had to clean it before I could even use it, it was so dirty. Scratches on the slide and sights. They disassembled the optic for some reason. Whatever, decent price even used. Well once I went to use it, they slide lock is inoperable. It won't release when I pull the slide back. Nice and compact. Excellent craftsmanship and quality. Grips very well and easy to conceal. It’s worth every penny of your investment.
