1 year agoI wanted a rifle I could use for long distance shooting and hunting. So, I bought the Tikka UPR 24" in 6.5 cm rather than the TACa1 due to the reduced weight. Even when fully equipped with all attachments, this rifle (12.1 lbs) weighs less than a pound more than the base TACa1 (11.2 lbs) does out of the box. T3x internals are magnificent, clean, and wicked smooth. I would have liked it more if butt spacers were included with the weapon. So, now I need to find about 1/2" of butt spacers somewhere to match my preferred length. Additionally, a sling stud to rail adapter could have been included since the weapon includes 2 forward studs. The cheek rest tightens down well, but it lacks the ability for front to back adjustment. The adjustable trigger is nice since mine was shipped with a higher weight pull than I prefer. I also would have liked a 2-stage option. On the plus side, the color of the stock is darker than online pictures show. It is more of a grey with black flecks rather than an off white with black flecks. This saved me from repainting the stock immediately. After mounting my Vortex Viper PST gen 2 5-25x50 on the included rail mount, every grouping has easily been sub-moa using Hornady Match ammo. For front stability I used Accu-Tac BR-4 g2 bipod attached to a Caldwell sling stud to rail adapter, and for rear I used a sand sock I found on the range. My tightest 3 round group was 1/2" and my widest spread was 3/4" at 100 yds. This is a very consistent rifle. 4.5/5 stars

1 year agoThis has to be my best purchase in a very long time. The fit and finish seems to be top notch from a well known manufacturer as expected. Mounted a Vortex Strike Eagle 5-25, bore sighted and off to the range. 5 rounds later shooting sub-moa with factory ammo. Couldn't ask for any better.
