It’s a good self defense pistol for the price. It’s light, feels good in you hand and easy to fire. Has a little bit of a kick. But my 14 year old daughter was a first time shooter and was able to handle it and still keep relatively tight grouping. It jammed the on the first few rounds but after stripping and lubricating a little more I haven’t had the issue since.

The Smith & Wesson SD9 VE Semi-Auto Pistol was the first pistol I have ever bought. It is a great first pistol purchase! I have taken the gun out to the range and it has fired hundreds of rounds without any issues. Shoots great and smooth.

I love this gun! I went to the range and shot 100 rds with out a problem no jams, the trigger has a long pull but it is built that way for safety this is a self def. gun not a race gun after a few rounds I got use to the trigger. My only problem was Washington state gun laws and the hoops you have to jump thru even thou I already own a gun but that's not BPS's fault. All in All Bass pro shop staff was great and would recommend this product

Bought this just over a month ago, very pleased with the performance and the availability of upgrades. Added Hi-Viz front and rear sights, and NDZ stainless guide rod and spring along with extended slide lock lever for ease of dismantling and cleaning.

Bought this as soon as I saw in stock as I was looking for an EDC that didnt have a Glock pricetag. After alot of reviews and videos I ourchased and boy am I happy with this one. Bass pro price on this was pretty competitve and am happy with its overall durability and stainless stell slide.

I purchased my SD40VE about 5 months ago, and since then I have fired close to 1000 rounds. I haven't experienced any jams or malfunctions so far. Good weight and slim design makes for a comfortable carry and grip while firing. The only slight downside, not a big one, is the length of the trigger pull. It feels like you have to pull back really far before the round fires. Once you get used to that you hardly notice it. All in all good buy and good value.

Was lucky it became available at Bass a few months ago during the great firearms shortage. Solid, reliable and feels and shoots great. S&W quality all around. Great price for such pistol!

I brought this gun 1/19/21 online and went to the range and ran a 100 rounds through it, with no malfunctions. Trigger not that bad on it, plus i don't want a gun with a hair thin trigger. Recoil wasn't bad either. Its a well made smith and wesson.

I bought this gun and was well impressed with it. The recoil when fired is minimal for a more accurate shot. Well worth the money.

I took the gun shooting for the first time today. I did not know what to expect. I have see mixed reviews. I had no problems with the functioning of the gun I definitely recommend. There was some rattling when the magazine had 8 or more bullets. I called the manufacturer and they state it was typical. It should go away the more I use it.

I couldn't be happier. I ordered the SD40VE online so I was worried I wouldn't like it. Let me tell you, I love this firearm. Feels great. Shoots great. As a beginner, the 180gr. .40 isn't at all a challenge. I bought it in early January. I wish bass pro had ammo reserved for new buyers. That's my only complaint.

Right out off the box, jams with ANY ammo, steel, brass, reload, you name it. Super disappointed with my new pistol purchase after several years. Sold it ASAP for loss. Looking anywhere but S&W now. Too bad, they were always really ewell made and reliable, This one is a liability.

I've put over 1500 rounds through the 9 in less than a year right out of the box. Shoots straight and is a fun gun for the money

great hand gun, easy to use, great grip for a dude with big hands like me, no miss fire. Took it to the range from the store and unloaded 300 rounds without any issue. Easy to take a part to clean. Great weapon

Trigger is a bit heavy, but it’s a great handgun nonetheless. Used it to take my CPL class and have put a hundred rounds through it so far no problem.

I am no great shot by any means, but I get better groups with this pistol than with any semi-automatic that I have ever used. This pistol also runs any ammunition that I have tried in it. Any brand, grain, and bullet shape works in this Smith.

I am so impressed with this hand gun. It’s light yet solid in build. It fires smooth and without issues. Shooting it either slow or as fast as your trigger finger can pull is no different. It’s reliable and I am happy to have it as the newest member of our home. I chose the 40 cal for its diversity. It’s not so big it takes work to keep it on target yet it’s got enough power to put down the threat with one shot unlike the 9 mil and 22 cal. That’s just my personal opinion I respect those that feel differently. I really like a feature I haven’t seen before. It’s an indicator that pops up when it’s loaded and chambered. Easy to see yet doesn’t interfere with your sight picture, what a great idea! The quality is what you would expect from a legend such as SnW! I now keep it with me at all times to assist in defending/protecting my family and those around me. I am one of many that are the guardians of freedom and the American way of life both foreign and domestic!!
