1 year agoWell, some folks say that the 230 grain hydra-shok is outdated technology. I say that this ammo is the most reliable and accurate bullet to shoot out of my wilson combat compact cqb pistol and my sa xd compact. i have complete faith in this bullet and that is what i carry in my cqb compact for edc. this ammo shoots dead-on to point of aim and is so consistent.

1 year agoI have tried many different defensive rounds in 45acp and this one is the best I could find ballisticaly in my own tests and what I see on line. I have carried this stuff for years. It is reliable and accurate.

1 year agoI’ve used hydra-shok ammo for different caliber’s for a long time. They feed good in my 1911’s and they get the job done ????

1 year agoThe Federal Hydra-Shok 230 gr. 45ACP has an excellent 30 year reputation for stopping bad people in their tracks. At least as well as can be expected from a handgun. This standard pressure load expands to about 3/4”, penetrates about 15” in 10% ballistics gel and gives close to 900 FPS in a 5” barrel. It’s a good match for an all steel 1911 that absorbs the recoil of the 230 gr slug. New bullet designs promise to equal it, but why switch from something proven that’s become the standard of measurement.
