Springfield Armory’s M1A SOCOM starts with a specially-engineered barrel mated to the gas system with a proprietary muzzle brake. The muzzle brake reduces felt recoil and keeps muzzle rise so flat that follow-up shots with this powerful 308 Win/7.62x51mm have never been so easy. It has an XS post front sight with a Tritium insert and .125 blade, and an enlarged ghost ring aperture rear sight, .135″ with MOA Adjustment for both windage and elevation. SOCOM 16 rifles include one 10-round Parkerized steel magazine. A modernized descendant of the distinguished M14 and M1A rifles, the SOCOM CQB model offers quick and easy handling for defensive use indoors or out. The 16.25″ barrel has a black Parkerized finish, and the CQB features a 5-position CQB stock with an adjustable 2-position cheek piece, M-Lok rail system with one 7-slot and two 3-slot segments. A fixed top rail provides the perfect location for a scout optic should your needs dictate engaging from a distance. This model has a black finish.

1 year agoLove this rifle!...very accurate right out of the box, even with the shorter barrel... I did replace the plastic pistol grip with a ZenitCo PK-3 aluminum pistol grip and I highly recommend it as an awesome alternative to the stock grip...The only beef is that for the money it only comes with one mag...I did take advantage of Springfields rebate offer of free magazines and a scope mount but I believe that offer expires at the end of March...a great addition to my collection and a companion to my M1 Garand...only about 200 rounds through it thus far but not one issue...

1 year agoTHERE ARE OTHERS WHO CAN GIVE SPECIFIC MUCH BETTER THAN ME STATS SO I'LL JUST TELL YOU THAT WITH MY FIRST TRIP TO THE RANGE WITH MY SOCOM 16 I HAD NO FAILURE TO FEED, MISFIRES, LIGHT PRIMER STRIKES OR OTHER FAILURES AND I LEFT WITH A HUGE SMILE. I LOVE THIS RIFLE. I HAD BEEN DROOLING OVER IT FOR YEARS AND FINALLY GOT MY OWN. THE ONLY THING THAT I CAN SAY MADE A HUGE IMPROVEMENT WAS CHANGING THE GRIP OUT FOR A HOGUE OVERMOLD AK GRIP. IF YOU HAVE THE ARCHANGEL CQB STOCK DO THAT AND YOU'LL SEE … Read More

1 year agoExcellent rifle. Well built and solid. Only got to shoot it at 30 yards and the group was about 2 inches. The rifle came with a Holosun Red Dot which helped make the grouping. The second good thing was that it came with a hard and soft case and 8 magazines. This seems to be a dependable weapon, accurate and easy to manage.
