2 years agoMy daughter and I saw this in the case. At first I was hesitant as it was in 10mm. My daughter talked me into buying this handgun. It is sweet beyond compare. It is a heavy rack compared to my 9mm but it gets easier as one shoots it. This is heirloom quality and will be passed down from generation to generation.

2 years agoThis gun I bought two days ago. It will not cycle a round at all. I am super disappointed after doing further research that this is a very common problem in Kimber Firearms. I will never buy another Kimber, this gun is a HUGE mistake. Save your money and time, buy a Colt.

1 year agoMost people can’t shoot 10 mm it is very snappy and people limp wrist it so it is not going to feed properly so they should not nock a pistol they cannot shoot

1 year agoI had a similar issue that people mention in the comments with jamming straight out of the box. It took plenty of research to find out the extractor needed an adjustment. This is not a “too weak to handle” issue. I was able to watch a quick video and had the gun working in minutes. It is still a shame that Kimber would distribute such a terrible product. Unfortunately for them I too will no long purchase Kimber Firearms. Hope everyone finds this helpful!

1 year agoThis is an excellent 1911 with tight tolerance and nice trigger response. I agree with other reviewers about extractor issues. Mine had a small burr on the hook which made it ammunition finicky. I took a small file to it and now it feeds everything without a hiccup. I’m gonna keep this one for a good long while.

1 year agobought the gun had failure to feed issues. Kimber states break in period a gun in this price range should not need a break in to feed. So 30-50 rounds later of palm smashing the slide forward back to battery the extractor don't even work properly shell slapping the slide knocked off the cheap finish it has. needless to say Kimber would do nothing so now its sitting in a smith shop to be reworked. More money out of pocket

1 year agoThe camp guard is a nice pistol to look at. Sadly after a thousand rounds, I just don’t think I trust it for enough for the follow up shot.

1 year agoSuper happy with this purchase. The recoil is negligible. Feels like a buttery 9mm. It did have trouble feeding the last round of the magazine for first 2 boxes (target rounds). Has not failed since. I was told it really likes a higher grain/+P feed. Turned out to be true. Stick to that diet and you won’t have any cycle issues. Love it! Getting one for my pops.

1 year agoBought this mostly on the looks, even though I had read all the reviews. Got it home and did a thorough cleaning on it and checked for any burrs on it. Found a few and cleaned them off with a very fine file. Went to the range the next day and in the first magazine I had and FTE. I thought, oh boy here we go, but didn't have anymore in the next 50rds. Very satisfied with the accuracy and feel. Very satisfied with my purchase.

1 year agoI really like the feel from the moment I picked it up. Thought I wanted another Kimber 10 mill and kept waiting for the store to find the one online that indicated they had. Finally came down to buy it. I am glad I did. The display unit had day/night signts on it and I thought that I had read they all did. When I got home I realized I walked out with only night sights and they were not very bright. Long story.... I got it back in time to run some rounds and now I love it when I got a 100 rounds back in hand I entered a competition, and the gun did better that I. I suggest you pick one up. I can see I will feel comfortable in the back country with this on hand.

1 year agoBeautiful. Tight. Trigger. Grip. Accurate. All great qualities. Personally I did read many reviews regarding feed and mag issues. Heeding those warnings I purchased and followed a pretty rigid break in process of 300 rounds. Couple Wilson mags and Bam. This baby eats it all. Love it

1 year agoI wanted a well made 10mm 1911. This version is very well made and I love the way it looks! It did have some ftf on the last round of the magazine for the first few mags. I use a Wilson mag now and it has been great. It's very impressive and to me has a light recoil even with hotter 10mm rounds. I would recommend it.

1 year agoLook, feel, finish, sights are all 5 stars. Magazine is a 3 star, had some ftf from the start. Ordered Wilson Combat mags and have not had any problems since.

1 year agoFantastic Firearm. The build quality is beautiful. 10mm can get pricey but if you reload it is affordable. As others have said the Kimber mags will get stuck. Once you clean and continue your break in period, they work fine. No hangups until my first 200 rounds and I could feel the difference. Clean and go at it again... Only issue I have is for the price one pays for a quality firearm, more than one magazine included is kind of makes Kimber look like like a cheap company. Even HiPoint gives two magazines. If all else order some Metalform mags online for 22 bucks each...

1 year agoI always wanted a Kimber… I also think that every red blooded American should own a 1911! Unfortunately there’s no sportsman in the north east Nevada! The trigger is great. Accuracy is superior, but it jams I got a 20 pound spring it helps Wilson combat mags help. 4 to 500 rounds for a breaking. Is ridiculous! Having said that, I love the gun!

1 year agoSo far I love it. Beautiful finish and the fit it perfect. Trigger pull is good and smooth and not heavy. It feels like it was made for my hand. A little heavy but you need it, the 10mm kicks a lot harder than a .45 but it is quite controllable. Like Jeff Cooper said the 1911 is the greatest close quarters battle weapon ever devised. And the 10mm takes it to new level.

1 year agoIt's my understanding that Kimber makes a donation to RMEF for each gun sold. I purchased mine through RMEF at the time. The gun has premium features that the non RMEF version doesn't. The night sight work much better than I ever expected. You get much more for your money over the stock version. It shoots well and should get better as I get used to it. Love the gun.

1 year agoI've owned a Kimber 10 mill before and regret selling it. This new Camp Guard 10 millimeter is even better and will stay in the family for many years. Shoots accurate and steady. I love it.

1 year agoVery accurate, and functions very well, only time it FTF was when it was really dirty, clean after a few outings, or after you do a days shooting, it will serve you well.
