2 years agoBought this rifle, and was super excited. Action is sloppy but had high hopes. It calls for Remington 700 bases. I tried 3 brands of bases and the base screws didn’t match the receiver? REM 700 bases are pretty straight forward…

1 year agoI bought this rifle in 6.5 Creedmoor and Cabelas made it a smooth transaction. I have shot it at the range out to 250 yards with 3 types of ammo and gotten moa from all 3. This is the most accurate rifle I own now. The craftmanship is excellent. The rifle balances well and handles great. I have already put a buck in the freezer with it. I installed a 4-12x44 scope on Remington 700 bases with no issue. I am now a Christensen fan.

1 year agoI bought this Christensen Mesa on sale....thought I was getting a great deal! Turns out, the joke is on me. When I got it home, I took a good look at the bore with a bore light. It look horrible!! Looked like rust and corrosion! The next day, I took it to a Gunsmith. He noticed the rust color too. He also noticed that the stainless steel was a yellowish color. This is highly unusual for stainless steel. He said it happens at about 400 degrees!! This the 2nd time in 4 months I've had a MAJOR problem with a Cabelas/BassPro rifle!! I don't know what is going on, but I'm extremely disappointed, to say the least!! Can I get at least 1 rifle that's not defective??

1 year agoThree out of the first four shots were touching with the cheapest 300Win Mag ammo off the shelf. Gun functioned perfectly.

1 year agoGood light weight rifle the action is similar to the Remington 700 with the bolt release on the receiver while it comes with a triggertech trigger I upgraded it with the triggertech diamond as I have done to all 4 of my Christensen rifles

1 year agoGreat rifle, my first Christensen Arms, but certainly not my last. Handles great, shoots great, a high dollar custom rifle without the high dollar price. Also have to give a big thumbs up to the 6.5 PRC it's chambered for. My first rifle in this caliber and I'm really impressed with it, taking it to Colorado in November on a mule deer hunt.

1 year agoGreat rifle. Mounted a Vortex Viper, sub moa at 100. Got mine in 6.5 PRC, i am a believer in all the 6.5 calibers. Inherently accurate. Can't wait to shoot Mr Big with it.

1 year agoGun looks nice on outside. Put bore scope down the barrel before break in shooting and it looks pretty bad. Hopefully after 50-60 rounds will be a lot better. Then I can punch some paper to see what will do.

1 year agoJust picked up a Mesa 6.5 PRC from Bass Pro in Katy. Ordered from Calea’s. Gun was shipped from Cabela’s in Round Rock. Gun has numerous small scratches indicating that this was some type of in store demo gun. Disappointed that this Mesa was not inspected by the Cabela’s in Round Rock before it was shipped. Have a 6.5 Creedmoor Mesa. Super accurate rifle. Hopefully this PRC will be as accurate.

1 year agoI purchased the Mesa model in Feb, 2021, chambered in 6.5 Creedmoor. I couldn’t be happier. This is the dream rifle I’ve been looking for. Lightweight, smooth action, excellent trigger, and accurate. It’s very important to perform the barrel break-in as outlined by the manufacturer. Performance continues to improve as the break-in proceeds. My rifle now shoots 7/16” to 9/16”groups consistently After approx. 40 rounds. You can’t go wrong with your decision to buy the Mesa.

1 year agoI purchased the Mesa this summer for the 2017 deer season. I did the break-in according to the owner's manual (a first for me). Although I have been a reloader for over 50 years, I used factory ammo for the break-in and didn't expect much but thought if I could get something under 2 MOA I would be able to get under 1 MOA with handloads. To my surprise using 4 different brands I managed to keep all groups under 1.25 MOA! When I started developing loads the first 6 loads using 2 different hunting bullets were all under 1 MOA with the best combo was .40 MOA AVERAGE! I now have 2 different loads I am hunting with using 2 different bullets that are at .40 MOA and .60 MOA and they are within 1 inch of shooting to the same point of impact! All groups mentioned are 3 shot groups because of the light profile barrel and are consistently the best I have ever had from a hunting rifle using hunting bullets. In addition the trigger is great and the workmanship is excellent. I would highly recommend this rifle.

1 year agoI am a bit disappointed. The fluted bolt catches on the receiver as it cycles, with the result that it is much rougher than a comparable smooth bolt. Fluting the bolt may shave a fraction of an ounce off the rifle, but I could have achieved that by removing a penny, or even lint, from my pocket before setting off up the mountain. It is not a significant difference in weight, but it certainly affects the quality of the action. When I asked if Christensen could build me a bolt without the

1 year agoI had a opportunity to shoot my rifle last weekend and after 8 shots I was shooting 1/2 MOA. The rifle is smooth and comfortable to shoot.

1 year agoGood looking rifle. Nice muzzle break. Does not come with a thread protecter. Just put a rail on it. I have not had a chance to fire it yet. So far so good!!

1 year agoI was a bit hesitant on purchasing a Christensen Arms after hearing so many mixed reviews. However I am very pleased with this rifle. Fit and finish is superb and it feels great in hand. I have yet to shoot a group that is over 1 inch at 100 yards. 3 shots average .5 to .6 and 5 shot groups are a under .8 inches. I've shot hornady 140gr and Barnes 120 ttsx and both shoot equally well. Only gripe is that it doesn't come with a thread protector. Awesome rifle for the price

1 year agoLove this rifle! The TT trigger breaks like glass and the quality of the rifle is amazing. Shoots way under a half inch.

1 year agoI have a Mesa in the 6.5 Creedmoor caliber. it shoots several rounds really well but i have settled on Hornady ammo Superformance 129gr SST's. Half inch groups at 100 yards consistently. i have actually shot 1.25 groups at 300 yards. The rifle is easy to carry and no problems functionally. A wonderful rifle in my opinion. Thank you Christensen Arms...

1 year agoI bought the 6.5 Creedmoor rifle while it was on sale. I also bought the Vortex Viper 6.5-20 x 44 scope on sale too. Installed the scope on Warne Maxima rings and 2 piece base. Base weight was 6.4 lbs but is now 8.4lbs (unloaded). The rings are kinda heavy, as I didn’t got with the more expensive aluminum rings. Now just need to head to the range to sight it in!!

1 year agoI purchased a Christensen Mesa in 6.5 Creedmoor. It's a great rifle. It's very accurate, light weight, and balanced. I'm in process of breaking in the barrel as instructed by Christensen. I am already getting sub-moa groups at 100 yards consistently as advertised by company. Sometimes I'm even shooting same hole. Their customer service is great! I have asked a few questions by email and within 24 hours they have answered my questions professionally. I highly recommend this rifle and Christensen Arms!
