Tested by the FBI to see if it can stand up to real world, life threatening situations, this ammunition has impressive expansion and notable velocities at various ranges thanks to Winchester’s proprietary bonding process. The engineers have welded together the lead and jacket to obtain controlled expansion and a higher weight retention. The bonding can also take on the toughest barriers at varied ranges and velocities to simulate real world threat. Upon impact, the jacketed hollow point initiates expansion up to 1-1/2 times the size of the original bullet diameter. The unique notching in the bullet creates six equal segments creating maximum expansion on impact. Finally, Winchester has chosen nickel plated brass to maximize reliability through smooth chambering and case ejection.

1 year agoI was looking for a personal defense round for my 45 and this fit the bill. The bullet upset is impressive.

1 year agoThis has been my go to hollow point for years. I rotate my CCW ammo every 6 months since I live in a hot climate. I'll shoot the old ammo into gel blocks, wet phone books or on the range to test cycling and I'm never disappointed in its performance.

1 year agoThis is my EDC in my FS M&P. I trust my life with this fine ammo. It has been proven in ballistic testing to penetrate per FBI standards, and expands with a trace of those famous Winchester Talons. I highly recommend this ammo to "STOP THE THREAT!"

1 year agoI've carried this round for awhile now and fired a few boxes to test reliability and never had an issue. It test well you can check it out on lucky gunner on youtube. I have also used this round on the ranch for wild hogs and can say it does the job. I carry it in a few calibers and trust my life to it.

1 year agoI usually carry my Kimber .45 with me when I am deer hunting. I have had two deer with in pistol range. Two shots, two dead deer. One dropped in his tracks and the other staggered about 35+- yards. Both shot through the chest and the bullets performance was excellent. Both bullets exited, with one penetrating approximately 8 inches through the ribs and the other an angle shot that penetrated approximately 15/16 inches. Expansion was great and accuracy with this ammo is excellent. I know this is self defense ammo but with in 25 yards I know it will put venison in the freezer. I hope I never have to use this ammo for self defense BUT if I do I know it will do the job.

1 year agoTESTED 20 R0UNDS. ALL TO MY LIKING. LOADED MAGAZINES FOR DEFENSE WHEN NEEDED. LET GUNS SIT FOR ONE YEAR IN DRY CONDITION SAFE. WHEN I REMOVED THE GUNS TO CHANG OUT THE AMMO, THE FIRST ROUND FROM EACH MAGAZINE, STUCK IN THE BARREL. (TWO DIFFERENT GUNS). 3RD ROUND DROPPED LIKE A ROCK AND DID NOT HIT THE 7 YARD TARGET. POWDER RESIDUE IN FIRED CASES HAD PARTICLES CLUMPED TOGETHER, LIKE IT HAD BEEN CONTAMINATED WITH OIL OR SOMETHING. I WON'T TRUST THIS AMMO,EVER AGAIN.

1 year agoGreat expansion with massive damage. Reliable even through, wood, sand, dirt, plywood, and metal without clogging will always expand.

1 year agoTop performing defense round for 9mm. 124+P works great in barrels 3.5” or longer. Both my Glock 17 and Glock 26 are loaded with them. When chrono’d, Glock 26 got average velocity just under 1150 FPS, and Glock 17 was about 1230. Only downside the 20-round box. Winchester, 50 round boxes would be awesome.
