1 year agoI got this for my Springfield XDS Mod.2, 3.3 inch barrel because of its gel ballistics on Luckygunner.com (Average velocity of 888 fps from 3.5 inch test barrel). It averaged 836 fps from five shots in my 3.3 inch barrel. Gel tests from another similar apples for apples quality lab test of self defense bullets showed it not fully opening until around 856 fps. 1 year agoI only wish this stuff wasn't discontinued- the heavy grain bullet does outstanding out of a Shield 9mm 1st gen. I can't really notice or tell the difference between how "hard" this shoots between 147gr HST and this, but Federal claims to use a special powder formulation to get better burn out of short barrels. I always keep this on my wishlist in case they decide to rev up production again, or a box of it gets found in a dusty corner of the warehouse.
