The Winchester model 1886 is a lever action rifle that was first introduced in 1886. It was designed to be a powerful rifle that could handle large caliber cartridges, such as the .45-70 government. The model 1886 was a success and was used by hunters and soldiers for many years. This version of the model 1886 is a superbly crafted rifle that is both reliable and accurate. It is built with a solid steel receiver and a heavy duty barrel. The stock is made of high quality walnut and is finished with a beautiful oil finish. If you are looking for a lever action rifle that is a work of art and a superb shooter, then the Winchester model 1886 is the perfect choice for you.

I was surprised how rough the action was. I’m sure it would smooth out eventually but it was quite stiff and put visible scratch marks on the brass. It’s already at a gunsmith to be rechambered to 50-110 so it doesn’t matter much to me. But for a gun in that price range I was a bit disappointed. Other than that the gun is beautiful and what I expected

Wood was much nicer than expected. Winchester is still one of the best, still hits bullseyes with the best of them. Wish they were still American made like Henrys but Henry does not make an 1886. Really enjoy this gun.

Very good looking carbine version of the 1886 Winchester. Tom Selleck used his personal 86 carbine made in 1891 in 50-110 in his version of the movie Monte Walsh. In my opinion one of the best westerns about cowboys around the turn of the 20th century.

Great rifle. Feels like I’m back in the Wild West. Haha. Sportsman’s Warehouse did a great job taking care of me. Great buy! Great seller!

Great carbine. The fabulous, super strong Winchester 1886 action BUT made with the best steels, heat treated steel parts to the highest modern standard, and precision machining of every part makes this carbine better and stronger than the originals!. These made in Japan Winchesters & Brownings are stronger than the originals so hot hunting AMMO, such as my favorite Barnes solid Cooper hollow point loads, can be used without damage. I paid a decent price for this carbine even...

I bought this for a daily carry and a saddle gun. Smooth action, accurate, and hits hard. It does not have a high gloss finish on the wood, which is one of the things i like about it. I’ve wanted a 45-70 for awhile, and I like the Winchester.

Slick and smooth action, hits with authority and very accurate as well. The fit and finish shows attention to details and well trained craftsmen that take pride in their work.

All as advertised, with very straight grained walnut , and an imminently usable saddle ring that will be used with a muzzle-down port arms tactical sling . The only thing I would do differently on the rifle is install a decelerator recoil pad in place of the traditional steel buttplate.

Waited a long time for a Winchester 45-70 Saddle ring Rifle like this ,it's like stepping back in time I absolutely love this Winchester it was very hard to find, out of stock in bunch of places and actually I come across this one on my Birthday at Sportsmans Warehouse with only 1 in stock what are the odds,I highly recommend at 150 yards with hunting ammo it's on target and also the action is smooth as butter for a 45-70 I couldn't be happier THANK YOU Sportsmans Warehouse

This is an excellent 1886 reproduction, manufactured by Miroku in Japan, using the same tooling the original Browning 1886 commemoratives. It is built with far better steel than the originals, and to tighter tolerances than the originals. What a beauty to behold, it makes me feel a little bit like "Ralfie". It's very accurate, but light so it WILL wallop you with recoil with the heavy loads. You need to know how to shoulder it, there is a technique that will spare you bruising. This rifle is
