SPEER LE Gold Dot Duty Rifle brings proven bullet technology to rifle platform. The Gold Dot bullet was the first high performance, bonded-core bullet available in handgun ammunition, and has since set the bar for duty ammunition. The nation’s number one law enforcement option is now available in rifle ammunition for agencies everywhere. These specially designed loads bring law enforcement rifle ammunition to the next level. Gold Dot rifle bullets are optimized to ensure expansion out of barrels down to 10″ at a wide variety of velocities out to 200 yards. This kind of performance greatly increases the capabilities of duty rifles and gives law enforcement personnel a distinct advantage when it matters most. In addition, these new loads boast outstanding feeding in short, very short and standard length AR platforms. Like their handgun counterparts, the Gold Dot rifle bullets are constructed using Gold Dot technology. The process of joining the jacket and core one molecule at a time eliminates the potential for the leading cause of bullet failurejacket/core separation. It also ensures impressive weight retention through barriers as tough as auto-glass. In addition to being tough, Gold Dot rifle loads boast outstanding accuracy. Exact tolerances and unprecedented bullet uniformity of jacket thickness give Gold Dot rifle loads outstanding accuracy. In addition, these loads feature flash suppressed propellants and a muzzle velocity of up to 3000 fps. The versatility, reliability and superior construction of the new Speer LE Gold Dot Duty Rifle loads allow law enforcement agencies to utilize this tested and proven bullet technology in duty rifles with complete confidence.
This is the same round I was issued as a trooper because of it filling the exact role needed. It is why I use it in my personal weapons as well for home defense.

Used on deer at 100 yards bullet mushroomed perfectly and had great penetration. Great round and shoots 1 moa at 200 yards

Used this ammo on a medium size hog couple weeks ago and worked well after reading about it on various boards as effective hunting ammo. Penetrated the hog completely from left to right side and left a large exit hole. The hog dropped immediately and expired almost on the spot. I assume it will work as well on deer too. At the range it gave good accuracy from my 16" and 18" AR's with 1-7" twist barrel. From 75 yard range groups were close to 1" for 5 shots. I liked it enough to buy a large second batch for future hunting use.

Get a lot when it's on sale. Very tight groups the bullet performs better than I do in that regard. Also probably one of my favorite small hog rounds.

The current Daily Deal price @$10.99 is an outstanding value for the round! Normally this round is much more expensive. Purchased 1000 rounds which will be prepped in spare magazines in my patrol unit rapid response bag plate carrier and for home defense set up. This ammunition is current duty issue for the patrol rifle at my police department.
I have fired these rounds from a LWRC M6IC 10.5" barrel with SureFire suppressor. Loaded in 30 round Pmags and old steel 30 round magazines. No

I have tried many brands of 223 through a 16" Del Ton upper I bought used. Could not get it to group tighter than 2" at 100 yards. Tried the 64GR gold dots and 3 round groups were one jagged hole about .45" I have a new favorite riffle.

Wrote a lengthy review of my recent purchase and use of this ammunition. All positive remarks regarding PSA; however it was not ever posted. Very disappointing b/c it detailed this ammunition through my specific rifle to inform shooters how it performs with my setup (not everyone shoots the same rifle or shoots with the same purpose). Great ammo and price. Disappointing PSA failed to post a thoughtful review that was more than just "good ammo." I read lots of reviews before I purchase most items

My son took a deer with this round at 75 yards the bullet mushroomed perfect. 97% weight retention and amazing performance. This bullet did everything at 3 fold less the price of competition.

Great ammo I have had great success with though unless you are hunting the Great Dane sized deer of South Texas I would not recommend this or any other .223/5.56NATO round for deer sized game hunting. And for Albert who wanted info on good triggers Primary Arms often runs sales on Timney Triggers and AIM used to not sure these days...but both Timney and RISE make good easy to install modular triggers. AIM and Primary Arms also sell decent optics at decent prices and PSA also runs optics on sale.

I tested it on my range at 50 yards shooting at four 1-gallon jugs of water (back-to-back). The round exploded jugs 1 and 2 and went through jug 3 leaving a .30 caliber exit hole. I was not able to recover the bullet to measure the exact expansion or weight retention.

I was looking for a multi-purpose round for small deer feral hogs and coyotes (2 & 4 legged). This ammo should do well. Shot at 50 yards at 4 water filled milk jugs to check expansion. The first two exploded and the bullet passed through the 3rd leaving a .30 cal size hole. It deflected downward and missed the 4th jug and I couldn't find the bullet to check weight retention. I'll report again when I have more results. You can't beat PSA's price for this ammo unless you work for Speer.

LOVE SC! Smokin' price on my .223 HD ammo of choice! 30+1 in my pistol & CQB. 0ed sub-MOBG @ 50/200yds in both. ALL Socio-Facist prohibited possessors beware... Oops my bad might that be construed as a politically incorrect comment? NOT CAL baby...

great 64gr bonded bullet. Speer's famous gold dot/deep curl bullet has one of the best mushrooms in the land of bonded bullets.
I would feel fully equipped hunting white tail deer or hogs with this round.

Great all around performance.
I try to spend $100 every couple of months for 200 rounds of this stuff.
Look at it like another $100 insurance payment. Or an investment.
Home defense hunting prepping and just because. Oh and .. Murrica :D

I purchased this ammo after reading the reviews by others. I was looking for a high quality round to use for coyotes and smaller deer. Recently tested through my Ruger American Ranch in .223/5.56. All I can say is wow. After a initial flyer I was regularly shooting 1/2" groups at 100 yards. I think for the price it would be hard to beat. I had been using PMC .55gr SP and in my opinion the Speer .64gr is superior and is only about $1.00 more per box.

Totally flattened Case. Ordered multiple boxes of this quality ammo in 2016. Opened one box today for a mag reload, and found one round flat. NON-TYPICAL OF THIS MANUFACTURER!!

I chose this as the duty load for my agency several years ago after conducting side by side tests of it and several others. It’s accurate, reliable, and penetrated barriers better than anything else I tried, including FMJ M193 and M855.

Wanted a round for hunting deer and hogs for my young son. I have a 1 in 9 twist and worry about shooting heavier loads. This round was very accurate and shot very well. Haven’t seen how well it dies against an animal yet but the research I did gives me confidence.
