The next generation of the Bren, the Bren 2 Ms makes first landfall in the US in pistol form with multiple barrel lengths and two chambering’s. Whereas the 805 Bren was designed to a specific set of requirements set out by the Czech military, the Bren 2 is a clean-sheet design. With a bevy of changes, the most noticeable is sure to be the strict weight-loss regimen that the Bren 2 has undergone. With a trimmed-down aluminum receiver and a lower made from carbon fiber-reinforced polymer, the result is a robust but substantially lighter gun. Gone is the reciprocating charging handle, replaced with one that stays stowed in the forward position until it is needed. Swappable from side to side, it does double duty as a forward assist. Also added is an AR-style bolt catch/release system that is mirrored on both sides of the firearm, as well as a catch/release nestled into the front of the trigger guard. The magazine release and safety are also ambidextrous and located in very familiar locations for anyone versed in the AR platform. Chambered in 223 and 7.62×39, each is available in several barrel lengths. AR-15 style magazines are used for 223 variants, whereas in 7.62 the factory’s magazines are used to ensure last round hold-open and consistent feeding. All variants are swappable to different barrel lengths and chambering’s and also feature a modular forend that can be swapped to different lengths. In pistol form, the Bren 2 Ms comes with a flush rear plate that has the provision for attaching a AR-style buffer tube for the installation of an arm brace, cheek rest or similar pistol stabilizing device. For those who wish to SBR, a Carbine buffer tube and stock can be installed or the entire rear plate can be removed and replaced with a factory folding/adjustable stock.

1 year agoFirst 5.56 pistol and I couldn't be HAPPIER! Cz hit a home run with the Bren 2 and the aftermarket is expanding for IT too. Love the ambi friendly NATURE and ergonomics of the FIREARM. I've put 500 rounds through it so far and my initial impression is just how smooth the operating system is. If I had any cons it be the sling hooks on the front and rear of the GUN. BUT that's mainly a matter of preference and in my case upgrades through Dan Haga and HBI will delete those anyway. Would Highly recommend to anyone looking for a reliable carbine platform!

1 year agowas really looking forward to having this rifle, but there are a lot of things that can be improved upon. I would choose bren 1 pistol over the bren 2 at this point. The bren 1 is built much more solid.

1 year agoSo I wanted something else instead of another AR. And a SCAR 16s is way too expensive. So I figured I'd give the CZ Bren 2ms a try. Before even shooting, I changed the bolt release to a Lingle Industries extended release kind of like an ACR's. I installed a HB Industries flat trigger, HB 7 inch handguard, as well as a Haga Defense flared magwell. I'm waiting on my Primary Arms micro 3x. The handguard has a direct light mount which I used a Streamlight Railmount 1. I temporarily installed an SB

1 year agoMy first CZ firearm and I am not disappointed. The addition of the brace was definitely needed. I would definitely recommend the CZ Bren 2 to anyone looking for a piston AR style rifle or pistol.

1 year agoThe CZ Bren is a great firearm. It’s a lot of fun to shoot and the quality is fantastic. Compared to similar firearms the price is descent also. A few of my favorite features are that it is completely ambidextrous and easily disassembled.
