A modern classic in the European style, the 457 Premium has all sorts of flair. Its Turkish Walnut stock has a decorative forend tip with schnabel, while its hog-back stock has a mild Monte Carlo and a cheekpiece. It’s 24.8 inches barrel wears irons, with a tangent rear sight and a fiber optic front sight, while the muzzle is threaded 1/2×20 (a European standard). If we were to pick one thing that our previous rimfire platforms were lacking, it was an American-style push-to-fire safety – something Hunter’s Education instructors and 4-H shooting coaches have begged us to incorporate for years. Though that was the most obvious change, we also took the opportunity to tweak a load of small things at the same time. In addition to the receiver-mounted, push-to-fire safety, we chopped almost an inch of length from the action and slab-sided it to reduce its footprint and weight. The stamped bottom metal of the 455 is gone, swapped for a classy 2-piece interlocking system. To make scope fitment easier, we ditched the 90 degree bolt rotation in favor of 60 degree, allowing for larger ocular bell diameters with lower ring heights. To top it all off, the 457 now features a trigger adjustable for weight, creep and over-travel. With the exact same swappable barrel system as the 455 and the same reliable polymer magazine system, the 457 is without a doubt the best rimfire platform we’ve ever fielded.

1 year agoI have purchased 4 handguns and 3 rifles before this one from Grabagun and they have been way far better and more helpful than any box store. As far as this Cz 457 Premium goes, I would do it again and again in a heartbeat. The rifle is like a full sized centerfire showpiece. way better looking and feeling than any other 22 I have handled. Held at an angle, there are visible machining mill marks covering the entire stock that should have been sanded before finishing. 1 year agoExcellent rifle, and I don't say that because I bought it, but because I also did my homework before purchase. I also had a CZ452 few years ago. Accurate, reliable, beautifully made. One con: the bolt action is not as smooth as I wished, but nothing is perfect.
