The P99 is a fine pistol, with many excellent qualities to recommend it. I would suggest anyone looking for a full-size pistol to give this, or the PPQ, their consideration. I own both the AS and QA models, and I'm equally pleased with both. Walther continues to produce quality firearms, at affordable prices.

First, my experience with Grabagun was great. That's why I keep coming back even though I can find guns priced a few dollars lower sometimes. As for the P99 AS, it is an excellent weapon. I have two Walther PPXs in 9mm & .40 and they both have been great. The P99 is more elegant, sleek and just as dead on accurate. This will become my main carry weapon.

I bought this P99 a few months back and it is awesome. It is extremely ergonomic. The trigger in single action is light and crisp with a super short reset. How short? The shortest I've ever felt on any handgun besides a great 1911 trigger. (I have multiple srt SIGs and a PPQ, so that's saying something) It is very accurate as well and has had no issues of any kind. The build quality is on par with other German handguns (terrific) and better than your typical Glock, M&P, or XD. This is a world … Read More

The P99 is a fantastic 9mm handgun and GrabAGun's ease of purchase, shipping, web site are all wonderful. The P99 can be used for concealed carry, but its design is a "duty pistol", so it can be a bit large for some shooters. The DA/AS/SA trigger is brilliant: DA first shot (using the decocker), or AS not decocked; then a crisp SA trigger pull. Sorry, sounds confusing I know, but it's a cinch once you get to shoot it. It's also very accurateand I've had no issues, malfunction, FTE, FTF using … Read More

This is the 3rd Walther P99 I've owned and, like the other 2, there have been no malfunctions. I believe this was the first pistol to offer exchangeable backstops and it feels great in the hand. The trigger has 3 modes: single action, double action and anti-stress, and it is easy to convert between them without firing the gun. HK hasn't produced a single action trigger pull this good since their P7. It is even way better than the Walther PPQ trigger, which is the best of the Glock-type … Read More

I've found only 2 problems with either the 9mm or .40 S&W versions & the SW99 in .45acp. #1 you will blow your ammo budget in no time at all & if you spend.a bit of time developing the muscle memory for mag release you will have one heck-uva duty, CCW, or home defense pistol. I've only had 1 other pistol out of the box this accurate, a 659 S&W had to give wife #1 so she would sign divorce papers.

I've had my P99 for several years and it's been 100% reliable. The trigger/decocker seems to be the desiding factor.People either hate it or love it.If those who dislike would give it some time, they just might change their mind. The P99 has the shortest reset that I'm aware of.....and I've shot many, many, different handguns. It's also the safest striker handgun IMO.

It was the P09AS triger what convince me to buy this gun to replace the Walther PPQ M2 the one with a triger everyone loves but I never like. For me, the P99 AS is safer to carry which is the intended use of this pistol. This P99AS shot every type of ammunition I put through it. Hollow point or fmj, there was no problem. Totally reliable and accurate at 21”. This pistol was /issued by many German police departments. So to finish this review this gun is 100% reliable great ergonomics and accuracy. What else is there?

without a doubt the BEST POLYMER PISTOL I HAVE EVER OWNED. EXCELLENT GERMAN CRAFTSMANSHIP, BEAUTIFUL MACHINE WORK, UTTERLY RELIABLE, AND THE "AS" TRIGGER OFFERS LEVELS OF SAFETY OTHER POLYMER GUNS ONLY CAN DREAM ABOUT. THE PADDLE MAG RELEASE IS SO MUCH BETTER THAN THE OLD STYLE BUTTON AS WELL.

Great, classic Walther. The polymer is slick compared to more modern offerings. Trigger system is really unique with a great single action and reset. Sites are basic 3 dot with adjustable rear which do the job but aren't the best for defensive use. Overall a quality gun but if you aren't a Walther enthusiast...there are higher value self defense carry options.

Amazing handgun, I’ve wanted one for a very long time. So glad I was able to get one, thanks to GrabAGun for having this in stock. If you have the chance to get one of these iconic handguns, go for it. Reliable, ergonomic, accurate, and has the service history to back up its reputation.

Once I became familiar with firearms, I fully inspected it. The chamber was flaked with brass. "Brand New" means a few rounds, tops. But there's wear in various internal compartments. This is my first firearm, but I know metal. "New" may mean 1-4 months, but not if you've run enough rounds through to fatigue the paint & slid...Read More Read more about review stating It wasn't new, and I got gypped.

I couldn't be happier with this pistol. The eros are awesome and the trigger is fantastic. The accuracy of the gun is pretty stellar. It is everything I've come to expect from Walther. Everyone's mileage may vary given the popularity of the PPQ and PDP, but this gun was the trailblazer with its innovation. It checks every box for me.
