Beretta takes the A300 shotgun to the next level with the A300 Ultima! The Ultima comes equipped with an enlarged bolt handle and bolt release for positive manipulations in adverse conditions or when wearing gloves. The Ultima also features a wider stepped rib with a mid-bead and fiber optic front sight for faster and more intuitive target acquisition. The stock of the A300 Ultima is outfitted with Beretta’s exclusive Kick-Off Recoil Reduction System, which utilizes 2 hydraulic dampeners similar to those used in automobile suspensions. These hydraulic dampeners, combined with impact absorbing materials like rubber reduce recoil by an astounding 70%. In addition, the Ultima’s semiautomatic gas-operated action is equipped with a compensating exhaust valve and a self-cleaning piston.

2 years agoI just bought a 20 gauge A300 Ultima, it seems not liking the Winchester target load at 1200 FPS. Federal load seems to work well with this gun. I will use Federal 1250 FPS going forward.

1 year agoWorking well. 200+ rounds of cheap light target loads and only one failure to feed in the first five rounds. Otherwise, it’s working perfectly. Fit and finish are a little lacking for Beretta standards. Some paint chipping and gouges that seem to have happened in initial assembly, but nothing that affects the operation of the gun.

1 year agoI bought an A300 Ultima from a local gun shop in 2021 and liked it a lot. Went to Boise Cabela's in December '22 to pick up a second one in camo. When I got the shotgun home, I noticed that the camo hydrodip hadn't covered the end of the barrel, and the forend had a lot of play in it. When I took it out hunting for the first time, I found that the kickoff spring was not working, so provided no recoil reduction - which is one of the major pros of this gun in my opinion. (On my first one, the kickoff is great. Makes the 12 gauge feel like a 20). Cabela's has a plaque that indicates all firearms sales are final, but that they will replace or repair a firearm if it has manufacturer defects and you bring it back within 30 days. I did so, and they denied that policy and said it was a Bass Pro Shops policy - and that their sign on the gun counter wasn't supposed to be there. They did ship it to Beretta for me. 6 months later, I've contacted Beretta twice and they have no ETA on when they will have the gun returned. They are "waiting on parts" but also said they are not going to fix the kickoff. So, it can be a great shotgun. But apparently there are some real quality control issues, and Beretta and Cabela's don't seem to be doing much to fix it. Apparently you better do a real good job inspecting for a firearm for manufacturer defects at Cabela's before you purchase it. One would assume they are only selling new firearms in new, working condition, but clearly that's not the case.

1 year agoExcellent shotgun. Currently using for trap/skeet/wobble skeet/wobble traP/sporting clays. Very Soft shooting wiTh gas system, spring in stock, and the kick off System.

1 year agoVery tight to fit together out of the box. It’s been on a few hunts and rounds of sporting clays. I like how the gun shoots, recoils, and functions. Points pretty Naturally, 60/40 or 50/50 patterns off the patterning board, similar to a Franchi Intensity/Affinity 3.5 in patterns. Aftermarket chokes improve the patterns. Similar weight/balance to a300 Outlander. The a400 series is much better overall in fit, finish, and function. After the 3rd round of sporting clays, the bolt … Read More

1 year agoGreat shooter, only issue is the front cap where the sling mounts is depressed so a sling cant be used

1 year agoRuns well, minimal recoil. Did need about 50 rounds to break-in before cycling target loads reliably. Manual recommends taking gun apart and lubing before use because the factory oil is a rust preventative and not a real lubricant.

1 year agoExcellent feed and ejection with built in recoil system. Used primarily for sporting clays, light and easy to track targets.

1 year agoSuper smooth shooting gun, especially for the money. Hardly any recoil. For under $800 this is a great buy.

1 year agoI always wanted a Semi Auto shotgun. When I got The Sportsman's Warehouse discount offer, I could not pass up the opportunity to buy a Beretta. It is everything I thought it would be. I highly recommend it

1 year agoI was quite impressed when I saw this gun on the rack. I’ve written about shotguns for 20 years and reviewed a pile of them. I bought this one. It weighs 7 lbs. 11 oz, enough to handle well for clays and hunting and enough to help mitigate recoil, yet it handles quite nicely. The trigger is quite good for an auto. Butt and forend are well- shaped with good dimensions. Out of the box lop is 14”, with included spacers to stretch it out. Recoil is quite tolerable. 1200fps 1 ounce loads cycling was

1 year agoI've shot other shotguns but this is the first I've owned. Pretty forgiving recoil with it being gas and having the Beretta kickoff recoil system. Had some cycling issues early on but they subsided after I put 100-200 rounds through it.

1 year agoGreat shotgun. Hasn’t failed me yet. At least a thousand rounds through it by now. Worst part about it is reassembly after cleaning but maybe that’s just me. Other than that flawless. Got my personal best in clays and doves with this shotgun. This is a lot of shotgun for the price and definitely gives the SX4 a run for its money.

1 year agoPurchased the A300 from Sportsman's despite all the bad reviews on other sites and honestly couldn't be happier with it. Took it out and put 5 boxes through it without any issue. Since then have shot it several times and no issues as well. The recoil and light weight handling of the shotgun was even perfect for my wife who has never fired a shotgun before I got the A300. It was a tossup between the Winchester SX4 and the A300 and honestly I am glad I went with the Beretta. It is hard to find a shotgun of this quality and craftsmanship under a grand.

1 year agoWhen I was looking for a semi-auto, my first choice was Beretta. After researching dozens of reviews, I picked the A300 model. I found it fits me well, and has a nice balance. Easy to field-strip to keep clean, and reliable.

1 year agoFantastic quality gun, as always by Beretta. The all black finish is a nice touch and change from the typical wood finish.

1 year agoFirst shot out of the box absolutely disintegrated a clay. Best round of Trap I ever shot. Look forward to shooting Sporting Clays with it.

1 year agoSo far this has been a great upgrade from an 870 Express. Have a few boxes of light target loads through it and no issues so far. A little too much plastic for my liking, but solid shot gun a few months in.
