I have used these for several years now and they are great, especially in South Dakota where the birds are tough.

Very fast and hard hitting. Excellant for pheasants in South Dakota. Have convinced most of out hunting party to use these shells now. Best I have ever shot on wild pheasants.

This load will knock down and kill your birds. Plain and simple. It is always a good bet to go with Federal Ammo.

For several years I have used Federal Wing Shok High Velocity pheasant loads and loved them - until I bought five new boxes in the fall of 2013. Almost immediately my Browning Maxus started to get dirty with granular stuff like unburned powder. Lots of it, gumming up the mechanism until before long it was jamming. I took it to my gunsmith for a good cleaning and he said it was as dirty as any gun he had ever seen. So I switched to the left-over shells from last year (I had two boxes of #5s) and the problem has not reoccurred. I wrote to Federal and they gave me a very unsatisfactory answer about working on getting a better powder. I won't buy these shells again.

I shot these Federal on the second and third shot from an Sweet 16 with.016 choke, kills well. I also use Golden Chickens on the first shot. Glad I got them on NO SHIPPING at Xmas I have enough for the rest of my life.

I have been trying a variety of loads in my 16ga Citori, including the Browning BXD, Fiocchi Golden Pheasant, and others. The 5 shot Wing Shok really dominates the competition. They are expensive, but very effective. I downed a limit of wild Nebraska roosters the other day- three shots and three kills, two of which were well past 40 yards. I don't think I will trust another load for wild pheasants in my 16. It does pack a punch, but has a tolerable amount of recoil though if you aren't shooting all day. It is probably overkill on birds shot over pointers or lighter prey like grouse.

When these boxes of shells arrived they were packaged in a larger box. When I opened all packages (4 separate packages) the shells had come out of their original box and were rolling around the larger box. Would be a good idea to use some tape to secure the original box to prevent the shells coming out. Thank you.

Copper plating sure helps when your buddy claims he knocked the bird down; then when you clean the bird all you find is copper plated as opposed to his pure lead - I GOT EM!

Cabels had the shells I wanted and plenty of stock on hand. I had been stymied at local ammo stores. Thanks, Cabelas, good ammo and a great hunt. High brass 20 ga shells cycle perfectly in my Franchi 48 AL shotgun.
