The SU16 series is designed, engineered and crafted to be the perfect everyday Sport Utility rifle. Differing primarily in barrel length and stock configuration, these gas piston operated, semi-auto rifles accept standard AR-15 magazines, with some models that store two spare, proprietary magazines in the stock. Slightly smaller and a 1/2 lb lighter than the A model due to its low profile 16 inches barrel chambered in 5.56 NATO, the SU16B offers all the same features. You’ll enjoy the built-in magazine carriers in the stock, integrated bipod forend, adjustable iron sights and Picatinny-style rail for mounting an optic.

Features:

    Adaptable, durable, modular
Configurable – there are a few SU16 models and configurations to choose from to suit your needs, but all of them feature iron sights and an integrated Picatinny-style rail on top of the receiver to mount your favorite optic
Utility – if you know anything about KelTec, you’ll know that we like to keep things light and simple, the SU16 is an excellent choice for your go-anywhere 5.56 rifle
Reliable – all of the SU16 models are gas-piston operated which keeps fouling to a minimum where the magic happens, thanks to the long travel of the bolt carrier, the SU16 series rifles shoot smooth, flat and reliably

Yes, it feels like the plastic it is. And it may be over-priced for what one thinks it should be... But it fits exactly the mission it was intended: A light, back-packable trunk / survival gun that shoots. After zeroing it in less than 10 rounds at 50 yards, I was consistently ringing steel at 100 yards...on the 'iron' (plastic front) sights. Bottom line: Would I buy another one? Yep.

I purchased my SU-16B about 8 months ago and have about 500 rounds through it as of now, and although that may not be the thousands others usually claim to shoot, it's been enough for me to know the pros and cons of this firearm. The pros are as followed: 1. It's VERY light, and at only 4.5 pounds, it makes carrying it around much easier on your arms, and on your back when carried in a backpack. 2. It folds up to half its size, making backpacking with it possible. I wouldn't go as far as to say

I purchased a SU16B while waiting for Sportsman's Warehouse in California to stock the CA model. Although the A and B models are legal in California, Sportsman's will not transfer them to California stores. I purchased a used model for $250 and it was worth it. I may have been upset if I had spent the $650 on a new California model. 4.5 lbs, a small barrel, and a weak handguard cause the front end to move quite a bit. Wait for the C or the CA models to come down under $500.

“High impact” polymer body. Failure to extract. Parts are few and far between, with available modifications more scarce than hair on a middle schooler’s chin.

This gun is great but this website is run by a bunch of lowlife scalpers. These guns get sold through distributors for $350-400. Also their stock photo of the gun has rust on the piston tube. What a bunch of idiots.

Overpriced compared to other sellers. Construction quality not the greatest. Breakdown pin difficult to install. Clip wouldn't feed after 1st shot fired. Tripod flimsy. Overall a fair gun.
