The Henry U.S. Survival rifle is ultra lightweight, weighing in at a scant 2.5 pounds. The unique design allows the rifle to break down easily into three pieces in seconds. This enables the barrel, action and two 8 round magazines to fit comfortably into the tough ABS synthetic waterproof stock. No tools are needed to assemble or disassemble. Once disassembled and stowed, it is only an incredible 16 inches long. Carry it in your backpack with room to spare.

Had one back in the 80’s (Colt version). Worked great with a variety of ammo and accuracy was good enough for small game especially in a survival situation. Foolishly traded it. May get another though significantly more expensive now. Had it in my snowmobile emergency kit in the winter.

I was surprised to find the quality of the metal on this firearm was sub-standard. Almost "pot-metal_The product is serviceable and convenient, however.

The takedown feature is its best feature, but it all goes downhill from there. The rifle is accurate right out of the box, but the sights don't stay zeroed. Could be due to shooting, could be due to handling the barrel for takedown/ reassembly but definitely not acceptable for a survival situation. Basically, you'll need to make your adjustments and stow it away for its intended use. The next issue is reliability. Some magazines fire without a hitch while others will often jam (mostly FTF). I would say this is a magazine issue, but it has happened to both magazines on separate shooting intervals. The rifle itself is easy to manipulate but you will have to be creative and forgiving to make up for its shortcomings. It's definitely a "nice to have" option but I'd advise a rifle that accurately and reliably shoot lest you lose your meal for the day.

This is the same exact rifle as used by U.S.A.F. pilots. As a veteran, I really appreciate the simplicity and rugged reliability of this firearm. It is quick to deploy, fast to shoulder and aim, and surprisingly accurate. I purchased a third magazine, which can be kept in the magazine well and stowed in the buttstock with the other two magazines. That equates to 24 rounds, all in a compact package that can be stored almost anywhere. I prefer CCI Stingers. This is my personal survival rifle that I keep in my 'go box' with all my survival gear. A 'must have'.

Cumbersome transfer. I waited until the rifle came in. Then went to the store to pick it up only to find out I couldn’t take possession bc the govt wanted an additional waiting period. The background check was fast. Not sure why they require 2 cooling off periods.

Compact, lightweight, and accurate enough for what it's built for! I recomend purchasing the third (not included) clip, which can be stored attached to the receiver.

This is a great must-have for a serious camper, survivalist, or "zombie ready" enthusiast. It's simple, light weight, and floats in water. This gun is not for heavy plinking.

Seems like a great little rifle and I'm still thinking about getting one for me and one for my brother.

A good rifle for casual shooting, the AR-7 is well balanced once assembled. I do wish it had larger magazines, but 8 rounds at a time is plenty. The sights are not adjustable, so shooting at 100 yards takes some practice, but it will reliably group at 50 yards with no problem. The action spring is stiff, so it can be hard for younger users to chamber the first round. All in all, it is a very worthwhile rifle. Breaks down and stows easily. It is user friendly and not too picky about what ammo you use.

Found one on sale for $200.oo! Just really enjoy every aspect of this weapon. From the curious glances as I assemble it at the range, To the actual shooting of the weapon. Everybody wants to look at it. And it fits nicely in my "Get Home Bag" too.

love everything about it, we just haven't found the time or place to shoot it yet. Grab-a-gun was one of the few places which had it in stock and at a reasonable price.

Love the simplicity. I ordered two extra 8 round mags from Henry. Love this gun, my first .22 rifle.

Just got this yesterday after wanting one for over 30 years. It's easy to assemble and shoots well. lots of fun for back yard plinking!

Great concept, pretty good execution. The receiver wiggles in the stock even with the assembly screw snugly fastened, so there's a little room for improvement in the design or casting of the stock. It makes an otherwise decent firearm feel more like a toy. It assembles easily, is very lightweight, and shoots quite well. The sights are easy to adjust -- I can adjust the windage on the front with my fingers, and the rear adjusts vertically with a screw. Low powered or subsonic ammo may fail to eject fully, so use regular strength or high velocity 22LR.

A truly unique/ functional carry-out w/ an Air Force heritage but more refined/ updated and...it even floats! (Everything packs away into stock...plus ammo!)

I like it. Very cool. I have better 22s. What makes this rifle cool is that everything fits inside the stock.
