Taking our heavy-barreled rimfire to the next level, the 457 Match Target Rifle gets a bit more attention than the average 457 Varmint. Its Match chamber is cut to the tightest specification that CIP will allow, meaning it will perform impressively well with top-tier ammo. The MTR’s Turkish walnut stock is de- signed with ergonomics in mind, and its vertical grip has a comfortable palm swell and laser stippling for texture. A large, flat forend has dual QD studs for running a bipod and a sling, and wrap-around stippling gives much more grip for the forward hand. If we were to pick one thing that our previous rimfire platforms were lacking, it was an American-style push-to-fire safety – something Hunter’s Education instructors and 4-H shooting coaches have begged us to incorporate for years. Though that was the most obvious change, we also took the opportunity to tweak a load of small things at the same time. In addition to the receiver-mounted, push-to-fire safety, we chopped almost an inch of length from the action and slab-sided it to reduce its footprint and weight. The stamped bottom metal of the 455 is gone, swapped for a classy two-piece interlocking system. To make scope fitment easier, we ditched the 90 deg bolt rotation in favor of 60 deg, allowing for larger ocular bell diameters with lower ring heights. To top it all off, the 457 now features a trigger adjustable for weight, creep and over-travel. With the exact same swappable barrel system as the 455 and the same reliable polymer magazine system, the 457 is without a doubt the best rimfire platform we’ve ever fielded.

2 years agoThis is my favorite rifle to shoot. I just love the look and feel. Only one small change has to be made to the trigger spring (get the yodave) which can be done for under $20. The rifle really drives tacks at 50yds.

1 year agoThis is my second CZ 22LR and it is another great rifle. Fit and finish are great as is the accuracy. Sportsmans price for the CZ452 MTR was much better than I could find anywhere else (including used).

1 year agoPurchased 10/22 waited 3 months for this to come in stock. All I can say is wow! First day shooting took me 6 shots to get my Diamondback crosshairs locked in, shooting everything from Blazzer bulk to Norma Tac Eley Club and finally lapua Center X the CZ was amazing. shooting almost same groups with Blazer as with other ammo!

1 year agoWorth the wait. Very accurate out of the box. Quality is exceptional. Enjoyable to shoot. Wish it came with a second magazine as additional ones are difficult to find. Highly recommend this rifle.

1 year agoGreat rifle shoots well first bolt action 22 l’ve owned. The only problem l have is the trigger I have ordered spring to make it lighter pull weight hope that works. If that works great if it doesn’t the rifle still shoots better than l can. Very happy with this rifle.

1 year agoNice rifle. It's my 2nd MTR in 3 years. I use it for benchrest shooting in the factory class. With top tier ammo, it's very accurate. I have installed a Timney trigger, Area 419 rail with a Weaver 46X scope, and the Area 419 bolt knob, which gives me better control. I highly recommend this rifle.

1 year agoBeautiful rifle. Bought this for a rim fire competition events off the bench. This replaces a Ruger Precision rim fire. The Ruger is an accurate rifle, but need an even more accurate rifle. Opened the box and red a red sale ticket of $719 which they honored(originally $829). Than they gave me a 5% discount and GC for the difference from what I paid online. Sweet deal from SW. Total was around $683. I will update this review after my first ARA event in August

1 year agoShoots wonderfully. Accurate, nice trigger, great stock. Laser checkering feels great in your hands, Pillar bedded with nice synthetic pillars. Heavy rifle that rides on shooting bags well. The match barrel and chamber are wonderful…especially noticeable when you shoot match ammo, clean, and verify with a bore scope. Plenty of aftermarket options for CZ 457, if you want to upgrade. Aftermarket trigger (Timney), Bolt Knobs (DIP or Area 419), scope rails (DIP or Area 419), and many others. A fantastic bolt action rifle. This the second one I have bought.

1 year agoI've bought four of them in five months. Two Scouts, one LUX and now a Synthetic. All in .22lr You won't find a better quality or more accurate rifle for the money.

1 year agothe trigger does not adjust well to the take up screw adjustment for trvel before the wall and the after break screw nor does feel to take up much if any over traval the pull weight screw does not give a good feel for LB difference

1 year agoI’ve only used the website once, but the gun was promptly delivered. I’ve also only shot the gun at one tournament so far. It took just the first target to get in line and then it was off to the races! I hope I’m not getting ahead of myself, but really looking forward to shooting in the tournament tomorrow.

1 year agoCZ has done everything right. The MTR is highly accurate. The finish on both the metal is excellent. CZ has accessories for it that include steel and plastic magazines, a single shot device, and a elevated rail. What a nice gun!
