HENRY SIDE GATE LARGE LOOP

I went to my ffl for the transfer, and the ffl had discovered that The stock of the firearm contained what she thought was a scratch, but turned out to be a significant separation in the grain of the wood. The REturn authorization process went smoothly (including the refund of payment), but it was disappointing to have this beautiful rifle in my hands, just to have to return it that same afternoon.

I waited for well over a year to find one of these Henry case hardened side gate rifles. I was surprised to find one online at Sportsmans Warehouse. I ordered it and it arrived at the store in less than a week The action was really smooth, and the case hardening was spectacular. Mine had a tiger stripe look that was unbelievable. Range time was an initial 5 shots at 25 yards. This is where it lost 5 stars. The good news is that the shot group was tight and about an inch right of the bullseye.

I had been waiting for this rifle to come available for a long time. was pleased with the time it took to get it after getting it ordered. it was worth the wait.

I finally got a chance to shoot my 45-70 yesterday and It functioned flawlessly! It was an indoor range so I wasn't shooting it to its potential, but I'm in AZ and I don't want to be outside right now. Maybe in October when it starts to cool.off a bit ill get some real range time in.

This rifle is absolutely beautiful! I found many 45 70s but it took almost 8 months to find one thar was case colored hardened steel and with an octagon barrel. Almost to nice to shoot, but of course that didn't happen. All I have to say is it's a Henry, you get what you pay for, and it was worth every penny!

I can't recommend this enough. This model absorbs the recoil and tames the hottest 45-70 loads. Absolute pleasure to shoot.

Been looking for a 45-70 for a while and really liked the Case Hardened side gate from Henry. Rifle is beautiful and shoots great. Only shot it once so far but looking forward to more time at the range and future hunting opportunities with it.
