2 years agoFirst time taking it to out to zero it. Tried 4 different factory loads. Three hit bulls at 100 Yds and the 4th was off less than a 1/2". Comfortable shooting, very manageable recoil. chambered in 308

2 years agoI Bought the RAP a month ago. Chambered in 22-250. I have taken it out on a half dozen or so coyote hunts and have shot a good number of coyotes already. I Haven’t had any issues with it so far but being a Tikka fan (that’s what my other rifles are) I have to be honest I’m not a huge fan of the trigger on the Ruger. Maybe it will grow on me, time will tell. Other then that it seems to be a good rifle. I haven’t had any issues chambering or ejecting rounds like i have read in other posts.

2 years agoI bought this in 6.5 a while ago and finally got to use it a few days ago to shoot a moose. 1 shot and it was all over. I have had it at the range and at 250 meters, it was center hits all day. My moose was only a 100 meters, but with 140 grain hornaday, it was all over.

2 years agoThis is a older model but really sets the standard for durable, consistent and reliable. Cabelas was the only way to get one of these because whenever anyone has this in stock it’s sold really quick. I was able to buy it online and have it shipped to the store, which took 6 days. Other than no one having them in stock great gun for the money. Tried and true, taken this hunting in rain and snow gotten muddy and still shoots accurate!

2 years agoI have several Ruger American rifles. They are very accurate. The issue I have is the .308 rotary mags don't work. The .223 work great. Go with the Ranch & predator models that take A/R & AC mags and you will love it.

1 year agoBought one in 30-06 almost 2 years ago very accurate and reliable. Killed a big moose and a nice white tail so far. My only complaint is the cheap magazine failed after a few uses, Ruger replaced it with out issue but can almost guarantee it will fail again so I bought an extra one. It baffles me why Ruger would use such a poor quality magazine with a great quality firearm.

1 year agoI bought a Ruger Americian in 3006 cal. A week ago I put a Bushnell Banner 4-12-40 and went out to site in today. The indoor range only went out 100 yards and I was hammering nails. What a great gun and the sales people the best. First time I was in that store.

1 year agoI have not shot it yet. I have been too busy trying to correct all the problems associated with it. The bolt drags against the receiver. Utube has several videos showing how to lap the bolt in the receiver to correct this problem. The contact of the bolt lugs with the receiver is minimal. There should be at least 60% contact there for accuracy, although most reviews said that despite all these problems the rifle was accurate enough. I had to spend $100 for a pair of scope rings to fit the

1 year agoHaven't shot it yet (I live in California, unfortunately. I don't want to have to field test a rifle at a range. I feel that's a useless endeavor). Looks good, feels good, action is great. Price was awesome, of course. :) It's a Ruger, so I know it's well-made. I'm not a gun snob either, so if it shoots, it's a good weapon.

1 year agoI’ve only had one opportunity to take this rifle to the range. I put a Vortex Scope on it and after bore sighting shot about 10 rounds through it. I used hand loaded ammunition and it will be a very accurate rifle. I’ll take it out again soon. I would recommend this rifle to anyone. It’s affordable and accurate.

1 year agoMost accurate rifle I’ve ever had! Bought it for my wife and she loves it. I just bought a 6.5 PRC and gonna see how it performs.

1 year agoRuger makes great guns IN THE U.S.A. This one has proved to be accurate and a great value at its price. Sportsman's Warehouse added a sale and made it impossible to pass up. The 6.5 Creedmoor has become one of the best selling calibers so I had to get one. Looking forward to taking it out.

1 year agoExceptionally light and easy to carry. Bolt action is very short and quick. Out of the box the bolt action was a bit stiff but a good cleaning and small amount of silicone spray did the trick. Love the Accu-Trigger. Target groupings are very tight. Shot a deer at 120 yards with Hornady ELD-X 143 grain bullet…dropped it dead in its tracks. Highly recommend this rifle.
