1 year agoThis is my first bolt gun. I love it, I'm glad i didn't spend $2,000 on a different rifle with less features. The heavy barrel makes a huge difference and comes with the muzzle break as opposed to the thread protector. put a vortex optic on her and was hitting critical shots at 100, 300, 500 & 750 yards. 13/10 would buy again.

1 year agoThe accuracy of this rifle was pleasantly unexpected. After zeroing at 100yds I put 10 rounds on top of each other. I'm using a Vortex 6x24x50. I can't believe the accuracy of this rifle especially for the price.

1 year agoA smooth action with a nice Magpul stock, & a heavy 22 inch barrel. This is money well spent. What a nice rifle!!

1 year agoUpdate on rifle!!! I purchased this for my wife in November 2021. I am a reloader and worked up some starter rounds. I went out to the range and only shot 18 rounds during the break in process, with a mild velocity around 2665 fps with 140 grain ELM bullets out of Nosler brass. This thing shot light out at 100 yds with a strong cross wind. Due to wind I didn't shoot all the loads I worked up. Results for a factory rifle with a Leupold LRP and the Magpul stock, and trigger adjusted a low as

1 year agoThis rifle does an amazing job of putting affordable accurate firepower in your hands. It is capable of sub MOA accuracy. There is some tooling marks that you would see polished out in a higher dollar rifle but if you don't mind them, or are willing to put in a little time to polish the bolt with a dremel and run some lapping compound down the bore, then you can have an awesome rifle for under a grand.

1 year agoAlready have RAR in .223 with Boyd's thumb-hole stock-a tack driver at 100yds, this one is a nail-driver at 200, soon taking it to range with 200 out to 800 berms. Can't wait to stretch it out. The Magpul stuff is just what I would have done with the old RAR cheap stock and rail, didn't have to do it. Somebody is thinking at Sportsmans!

1 year agoA Flawless Ordering Process resulted in an Ruger American Hunter Rifle in a Caliber and Barrel Length that is typically hard to obtain. Ready for Pickup (Start of the paperwork for beginning of the California 10day waiting period) at the local Sportsman’s warehouse retail store. A very expedient process that was handled professionally and with personal attention to detail.

1 year agoI love the Ruger American Hunter. I have one in 308 and 6.5CM both shoot sub minute groups with factory ammo. I can get 3/8" groups reloading and doing my part. I changed the trigger spring to Mcarbeo and have a very clean 2lb pull on both guns.
