I gave up looking for an excellent condition S/W 17 Masterpiece. Afraid quality of the new one would not be up to the old ones. I was not disappointed. Very happy with my new one. Bluing is a little darker but I like it. Put on S/W Rosewood finger groove grips from Midway so it looks as good as it shoots.

At least two of the pistols that I have purchased in the last couple of months dropped in price considerably ($50 or more each) within 20 days of buying them. GrabAGuns policy is "Tough Shit!"

Great price, great heirloom quality piece! Though the sights needed to be adjusted this fine revolver shoots keyhole size groups. I purchased a set of target grips to finish the look and feel! Do not hesitate on buying this piece of history.

GREAT PISTOL. LOVE IT. IM OLD SCHOOL AND I LOVE THE BLUING ON IT. PRICEY BUT WORTH IT. STAINLESS GUNS SERVE A PURPOSE BUT NOT MY THING.

Disappointed. My father has an old 6" K-22 which I used to shoot a good bit which is why I bought this one. On the plus side, I like the grips, the bluing is beautiful, and I like the target hammer. On the minus side, the DA pull is very heavy and the SA pull is gritty with a lot of creep and hop, the barrel is either not screwed in the right amount or there is muzzle damage causing the bullets to shoot off center and I had to crank the rear sight clear to the left, rather

The example I received had a heavy drag line all the way around the cylinder. I was not happy about that but I had been looking one for a while and the original examples have been priced out of my budget. I took a half day off work and fought construction traffic for 2 hours to get there. It had never occurred to me at the time in the store that anyone would dry fire a rim fire gun but this seems to be the case. I have not tested this at the range so I cannot speak for the accuracy or

This is probably the pinnacle of production .22 revolvers being made today and although I woulda sprung for a nice used Colt Diamondback in this price range, any of the used Colt Snake guns have gone thru the roof and I guess if you really got to have Colt you will pay the over-inflated price (albeit they sure are nice looking handguns); that said, a new Model 17 goes for markedly less money. My research indicates these guns shoot to the same degree of accuracy as the Diamondback and some

Admittedly, the Smith & Wesson Model 17 Masterpiece is a pricey .22 pistol. You can get a plinking gun for far, far less. Yet I bought the Model 17 for just that, plinking. I love shooting my S&W centerfire revolvers, but for a lazy day at the campsite, shooting cans or bottles, I don't want to buy (or carry) all that centerfire ammo and I don't want the noise or the recoil for hours on end. With the Model 17, I get to shoot a beautiful, accurate, solid S&W and have fun with rimfire plinking at

The fit and finish are superb, a polished deep blue-black color. The rear sight is the current type with three drilled-and-tapped mounting holes underneath it, which allow the installation of a rail or dedicated mounting plate for a reflex sight. There are no plastic parts anywhere. A wonderful throw-back to the Golden Age of Revolver target shooting in the 1940's and 1950's.

I have owned numerous handguns and Smith and Wesson are my favorite revolvers. The look and work great.

This is the first Smith & Wesson I've bought that the sights were right on the money. It shoots very well and is accurate. Would recommend this to any new shooter or anyone wanting a dependable plinking gun.

This K frame revolver with a 6 inch barrel points well, has nice sights, I’d like a white outline rear, has a good feel when shooting, fits my hand nicely, the trigger is light in single action and decent in double action, looks great next to my N frames.

My model 14 smith that I carried for several years bit the dust and not worth repairing. i replaced it with this new model 17. Fit and finish is very good. I replaced the sights with aftermarket which improved the sight picture. Double action trigger pull is heavy. I tried some different springs but went back to the original after experiencing too many light primer strikes. The front sight can be easily replaced since it is pinned and one reason I didn’t look for a vintage model 17. I did a

Seen a few negative posts , went ahead and ordered a s&w 17 k 22 masterpiece which said in stock. This purchase could not have gone smoother. Everything went exactly as they said. I will be using guns.com in the future.

The S@W 17 was supposed to be NIB. Had wear on the muzzle and cylinder. The muzzle had wear patterns as if it had been in a holster.

It was a beautiful gun, but not for someone with moderately large hands. I couldn't use it. I measured from my wrist to the end of my middle finger and found it to be eight inches. Gun felt too cramped to operate comfortably.
