Born of the traditions of the Old West, the Rough Rider maintains much of the look and feel of the legendary Single Action Army revolver, only in a scaled down version. Chambered for the .22 LR and .22 Magnum cartridges, the Rough Rider is manufactured using state-of-the-art precision machinery that assures its accuracy and reliability. The cylinder lock-up is tight and the perfect timing of the action makes for a handgun that will put its shots where you want ’em. The machined barrel is micro-threaded and inserted into the frame for the optimal barrel/cylinder gap to give you maximum ammunition performance. A hammer block mounted in the recoil shield provides extra protection and has a red dot indicator that lets you know when the gun is ready for action. A new, more authentic looking flat-sided hammer paired with new exotic cocobolo grips, makes the Rough Rider both functional and handsome. There are also other grip materials available, plus finish options include the attractive and durable Smooth Silver Satin. When it comes to the Rough Rider there are no shortcuts taken. Ideal for hunting, plinking or western action shooting, let the Rough Rider be your choice in a new rimfire revolver.

2 years agoIt is a great looking gun and it comes with an extra cilinder for 22 cal magnum the reason for only four stars is that I haven't been able to get ammunition for it so I can't shoot it for now

2 years agoI love my heritage revolvers. Hardest working gun I own. I us it mainly for dispatch on my trap line. Shoots ever .22 round, shorts to magnum (with cylinder change). DEPENDABLE. Affordable, and versatile. Fun to shoot as well.

2 years agohave had mine for about 6 months. it is a great gun. i use it on the farm when i am clearing bush, and need something for snake control. for that i use rat shot. for the price and performance, you cant beat it, however the finish does not hold up well. i not keep a bottle of cold blue with my cleaning kit.

2 years agoI purchased the 4.75 inch barrel model. Took it to the range and put 250 rounds through it with no issues whatsoever. Right out of the box the gun shot high and to the left about 4 inches at 15 yards. As the round count increased, I could hit the bull’s-eye by holding off center and down to the right about 3 inches. I thoroughly clean the barrel and went back to the Range the next day and put 100 rounds at 20 yards. Accuracy increased, but was not perfect, but for a sub $200 gun with interchangeable cylinders, those parameters are fine. The gun looks phenomenal, the fit and finish is very good – excellent. The action feels very gritty and not as precise as some other SAA guns like Ruger or Beretta that I own. But again, looking at the price point, this is acceptable.

2 years agoThe pistol was covered in blemishes and appeared to be a used pistol being sold as new. The 22lr cylinder had 6 burn rings and the cocobolo wood grip had two marring's in the wood as well as multiple spots where the finish was dinged. This isn't my first firearm purchase at Cabela's, but it is officially my last. The gun counter employees have absolutely no personally and didn't offer to let me look over the pistol before taking possession of it. I purchased it online through the Cabela's website. Needless to say I was very upset when I walked out of the store with a blemished pistol. I get it...its a low priced pistol but what a joke. Haven't shot it yet but I guess will see how it goes. Wish Ruger made their similar SAA with an interchangeable cylinder for 22WMR....I wouldnt be here...

2 years agoI liked the gun, it has old flavor. I did not have any trouble shooting .22LR rounds but the problem occurs with .22 Magnum. It misses one or two rounds when shooting 6. I believe its better designed for .22 LR than the .22 Magnum.

2 years agoBeautiful little traditional revolver. It has a very classic look and feel. Great balance. Great mechanically. Have not shot it yet.

2 years agoWas looking for a reasonable revolver and when I seen this online and read into it, it caught my attention and the price did too. Knowing you get two for the price of one was great. So after all the background and checks when I got it home, I went to the range and gave it a couple rounds. Overall was a great purchase. Perfect 22 for me.

2 years agoIt is a fun gun to shoot. Not expensive to plink with. A heck of a lot of fun when using it to shoot at squirrels and rabbits.

2 years agoIt cannot believe how accurate this gun is with fixed sites, whether I am shooting LR or MAG. I bought it because I wanted an inexpensive entry into single action revolvers, and it has become one of my favorites, especially when shooting MAG rounds. I've owned mine for 8 years and the finish should be terrible because I am guilty of neglecting to clean and store it prop[erly, but it is as good as the day I bought it. Trust me, if you want a 22 SA revolver that offers simplicity, quality, durability and a whole lot of fun...this is your baby!

2 years agoI haven’t had the time to shoot the Heritage 9 shot yet. It’s easy to switch cylinders from long rifle to magnum and its basic operation is smooth. Can’t wait to get on the range to test accuracy. It’s a beautiful gun with great looking cocobolo wood on the grips.

1 year agoGreat fun I bought a six shooter and loved it so much I bought a 9 shooter I forgot what fun revolvers are and .22's are cheap shoot all day but more time reloading but that's part of of ithe fun

1 year agoShoots very well, no cylinder changing issues. Great gun for teaching beginners. The fact that it's a single action saves on ammo and is much safer with new shooters.

1 year agoThis is an ideal "9 shooter". The exotic cocobolo grips are beautiful! I'm considering getting another for a matched pair. Cowboy holsters as well. Really a lot of fun!

1 year agoHated the orange grips. Had to buy rosewood. I bought the heritage 9 shot revolver. I can not be happier with it. After a box of shells through it. it smoothed out to be a very fine shooting piece..I am happy with the heritage and more than reasonable price i paid for it.

1 year agoVery Pleased with this purchase, excellent .22 revolver, comes with interchangeable cylinders which allows you to shoot .22 Long Rifle Ammo and .22 Magnum Ammo. Fits practically perfect in my hand for a smooth firm grip. Pistol is very well balanced which allows for almost zero recoil. I would recommend this to all my friends and family.

1 year agoGreat price! Great fun! Mine came with the 22LR and the 22mag cylinders, so great 22 all around. If you are looking for a collector's item or a family heirloom, you might need to look elsewhere AND in a different price range. It is what it is. I love it and my boys love it. I had a problem on day 3. So, hesitant to give 5 stars. But I called it in and Heritage took care of me. So 100% satisfied, happy and proud to own such a cool 22. I am expecting at least a decade of plinking and when my confidence grows, maybe even some small game hunting with it.

1 year agoAppearance- it looked as expected and finish was decent. As a noob to revolvers, installing the cylinder was tricky, as it seems a little finicky about getting it just right. If it looks like it is in right but actually isn’t, the gun will let you know right away. Unloading the nine shot, you have to rotate the cylinder just a bit for the ejector rod to line up; apparently they use the same barrel as the six shot which makes the alignment a hair off. I’ve had no failure to fire at this point.

1 year agoBedzside companion. Simple mechanism, reliable, nine rounds of 22 magnum, yeah, it is a home defense weapon.
