The Standard Manufacturing 1911 is the pinnacle of the gunmaking art. This model with its deep Royal Blue finish is like no other 1911 available anywhere and at any price. To obtain this finish all metal surfaces must be meticulously prepared by our expert craftsman with many labor intensive hours of hand polishing and stoning. No other manufacturer that we know of is capable of producing this level of finish. In fact, this Royal Blue finish is only encountered on the very best guns manufactured many decades ago when time and labor was not a major factor but craftsmanship was. At all stages of manufacturing this gun they employ the same fundamental principles. All of the metal to metal fits are as perfect as can be performed by the most skilled gunsmith.

1 year agoThis gun is so well made and so good looking, and would easily compare to guns that are thousands of dollars more! This is my forth Standard Mfg. sidearm and will not be the last. And as for Grab a Gun they shipped this within one hour of ordering it and it arrived at my FFL in Ohio from Texas in under 21 hours! I will be taking this to the range soon and I am sure it will be just as accurate as my blued one!

1 year agoI have not shot the gun yet ,or I may just buy a presentation case and let it be the show gun it is,it’s magnificent and true to form 1911.

1 year ago1st trip to the range 500 rds of 200 swc #68 with 5 grains of bullseye powder blew the center out of every target I shot at 15 yrds Gun is spot on producing 1.5" ragged holes from sandbag rest and no failures at all. Soda cans at 25 yards hit every time. Slight creep in trigger, I'll buff that out. Gun is super tight in all other aspects. Thinking about getting another at this price...one happy camper.

1 year agoI bought this gun on sale from grabagun and was blown away when the gun arrived. Everything about this gun screams workmanship and attention to detail. Nothing has been overlooked and the results are simply exquisite. The pictures on the website don’t come close to conveying how beautiful this firearm is. While this isn’t an inexpensive gun it’s an exceptional value for the price, simply put nothing has been overlooked.

1 year agoBought this gun mainly because of excellent reviews. GrabAGun offered an excellent price and excellent shipping time ! I received the gun quickly and was very pleased at the appearance of the gun upon opening the box ! All was as advertised and the gun was very solidly built . I was extremely happy with the fit and finish ----- except for the trigger ! The trigger was far from what was presented in the rest of the gun. The trigger was (and still is) loose as a goose , you can take a hold of … Read More

1 year agoIf your taste is for a case colored harden, great shooting 1911, this is your last stop! For the money you'll have to go another six or seven hundred more to mach it and you won't get the case colored hardening finish. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder they say, this is a beauty. You won't understand what I'm saying until you get one of these in your hand. This thing is a work of art, Thanks.

1 year agoJust came back from FFL, gun arrived! It is absolutly beautiful, there is no rattle in the firearm at all. The upper slide to lower frame attachment is as tight of tolerances I have ever seen. It seems to be machined better then my Colt Gold Cup Series 70, 2yrs old. The checkering was on the front strap as well as the spring housing of the firearm. I have already ordered trinium sights from Warren tactical.com. They provide the sights for this pistol. On sale right now for 104.00, regular … Read More

1 year agoAfter opening the flimsy cardboard box (said to be replaced with a real box) and unwrapped this 1911, I and the people at the FFL dealer were amazed at the beautiful case coloring and laser engraving. I replaced the grips with bone ones and later replaced the magazines. Field stripped and lubricated and took it for its "breaking in." With the stock mags, it would not eject Remington 185 grain loads. Switched to 230 grain loads and no further problems. This 1911 is ACCURATE! Have only put about … Read More

1 year agoThis pistol is a work of art. An itch that had to be scratched. GrabAGun came through with a very reasonable offer for an exceptionally fine piece. Mechanically sound, the bone charcoal case color hardening is awesome old school and the engraving is amazing. Cherry on top being a pair of Ivorywood Exotic Grips by Esmeralda. Typical class A service by GrabAGun. Only wish, and this is personal preference, is a gold bead front sight for the aging eyesight. It is really a work of art. Again made possible by the great people at GrabAGun.

1 year agoI live the fit and finish of the gun. It won't take Colt, Springfield, or Kimber mags without malfunctioning. It's a great SHOOTing pistol.

1 year agoThis 1911 is just what it should be & what I expected of one. The slide is like it's on ball bearings, very balanced & the erg's fit snug. My only dislike if it's even that is you might want a new front sight as this one is blackened like the rear sight. I couldn't make out the target in dim light but as a quick drawn protective weapon you wouldn't be setting up a sight picture anyway, so that's your personal call as any weapon would be.
