Winchester Xpert 22LR Ammo 36 Grain Lead Hollow Point 500 rds/box – XPERT22

Great ammo, the only issue is it really takes some work to extricate the lead from the barrel of the .22 when several rounds are run through it.

I love Sportsmans, and will continue to buy ammo there, but NOT this ammo again, EVER. Took a 500 rd brick of this out yesterday, bought it about a month ago. Ruger MkIII 22/45 10 rd magazines. Never made it through ONE magazine without at least one dud. Fail to ignite. retry, nope. 3rd time nope. Some magazines, 2-3 failures to fire. Thought it was my gun. tried in my 10/22, same results. Shot ok when it would fire. About 1 in 10 failed. Hmmm. Try another gun. Remington Nylon

The price was relatively cheap, so you can expect the quality to be about the same. It goes BANG most of the time, however NOT ALWAYS. I would estimate that apx 1 in 30 rounds have been duds for me . Even after reinserting and trying to fire the shell a second time, usually it still does not fire.

I bought this ammo years ago from an LGS (before Sportsman’s opened here). It hasn’t been any less reliable than any other bulk ammo. Occasional misfires happen but they’re not common and leading is not an issue which is a surprise considering its non plated bullet (unlike their Wildcats). Accuracy has been quite good. From my Ruger MKII 22/45, I got a best group of 2 3/8” at 50 yards with the factory iron sights. Not the typical group for sure but it happened. I am pleased with the performance and value I get with Winchester’s Expert load, it’s one of my main stockpile 22LR loads.
