Performed well out of my xds but I did have a failure to feed when racking first round into the gun on each magazine

I found this to be very reliable and hard hitting when fired from my S&W Bodyguard. I would not hesitate to use it in my personal defense CCW. thanks

The rounds functioned flawlessly in my pistol and when fired on the indoor range, demonstrated very good accuracy. I did not test them in ballistic gelatin but from tests I have read, the bullet performs flawlessly, too. Of course, the rebate doesn't hurt either. I bought two more boxes because of it.

While I haven't shot this into any medium, I find it shoots to the same POI as my Critical Duty which I pair it with. There are several reviews on the web showing the performance of this ammo in ballistic blocks. That is a good indication of the performance you can expect from this ammo.

Far more accurate and consistent than Hornady Critical Duty/Defense from controlled experimental testing.

Had 2 FTE's and 3 FTF's with this particular round in a KAHR 380. Prior to that, I ran about 200 round of a competitor ammo through with no issues. Ran another 100 round through after these rounds with no issues. So, out of a box of 20, 5 were failures; 25% failure rate gives me a 75% chance of insuring my self defense. Thinking I would rather it be a bit higher. I will not buy these rounds again.

While I read other reviews indicating this ammo doesn't function well in some guns, that is true for virtually all hollow point ammo, so any ammo for self-defense needs to tested extensively through whatever gun you intend to use for self-defense. In my full-size 45ACP and full-size 9mm they function perfectly. The Barnes is among the best bullets available for reliable expansion; the solid bullet expands reliably through all sorts of materials without separation issues.

Barnes has always been 100% reliable for me. The hollow points have excellent, consistent expansion. If you can catch them on sale, get a few boxes!

It's hard to beat the Barnes hollow point. Completely reliable and incredible expansion make this a must have round.

Tried the 185 gr, +P .45 in dry phone books with a 1911 Colt. No expansion at all.. Military ball penetrated better. Save your money for ammo that performs as advertised.

I was using cheap range ammo in my LC9s and wondering what was up with the accuracy. I tried Fed Hydra Shock with similar results. The TAC-XPD performed way better and had tighter groups with no wild strays typical of the other ammo. I now have confidence in this gun. Can't wait to get more.

Barnes ammo is the best I have found for carry ammo, it cycles perfect in all my 1911 .45's and 1911 9mm and my Browning Hi Power 9mm and my wife's Ruger LCP 380. Being lead free it's approved in Ca for carry when i'm hunting.

I tried just about all of the new 9MM. that comes out !!! I've tried FEDERAL HST 124,147 +P , MICRO 150 and LE(LAW) Tactical AMMO. Remington BLACK BELT, WINCHESTER Train & Defend, RANGER 147 T-Series LE and many other Win. Ammo. And all kinds of other 9MM. Ammo. THESE ARE THE BEST AMMO IN 9MM. THAT I HAVE FOUND !!! WITH THE BARNES COMING OUT ON TOP OVER ALL !!! IN THE WINTER IN MY BERETTA M9A3 AND SIG SAUER P356 HANDGUN, I USE THE BARNES TAC-XPD AMMO OR THE FEDERAL PREMIUM TACTICAL LE. 147gr. IN THE SUMMER I USE THE BARNES OR THE FEDERAL PREMIUM TACTICAL 147gr. IN THE BERETTA M9A3 AND IN THE SIG SAUER P365 I USE THE FEDERAL PREMIUM MICRO 150gr. IF I RUN OUT OF THE FEDERAL 147 LE. OR THE BARNES, I'LL USE THE WINCHESTER RANGER T-SERIES 147 LE. THE BARNES WILL EXPAND TO: .71" AND WILL HAVE A PENETRATION OF 18"+ IN FEDERAL TESTING GEL !!! WHAT MORE DO YOU WANT OR NEED !!! I'LL BET MY LIFE ON THE BARNES TAC-XPD 9MM. AMMO. AND I BELIEVE THAT IF YOU CHECK OUT THE BARNES - YOU WILL TO !!!

I purchased these for home defense after reading all the great reviews online. I had them in my cz75sp01 9mm for several months before bringing them to the range. Glad I did. First shot surprised me because of lack of recoil and failure to cycle the next round. I pulled the slide back to release the spent round and proceeded to fire off the next round which did the exact same thing. Of the 10 rounds in the gun only 3 fully cycled the gun. All underpowered. I have shot several thousand rounds of different ammo thru my Cz and never had an issue with cycling.i don’t understand how this is rated a +p,

spot-on and I do mean spot-on from my 360j. perfect poa and poi alignment out to 20 yards from a 14oz j frame and not excessively uncomfortable to shoot....you couldn't custom load a round to perform any more accurately, and for a carry round that should be your #1 priority.....you are responsible for where they go afterall

far superior to remington ammo. actually works. allows my ruger to load, eject and shoot. Not like remmington, which jams with every shot. Barnes is tops. it actually works .in an el cheapo ruger lcp

Fired only 13 rounds, the 14th did not have enough powder and got lodged in my barrel. I would not recommend this ammo for self-defense.
