HSM Bear Load Handgun Ammo – 440 Grain – 20 Rounds

Ordered some of these to try out and see what they are all about. Shot them at the range. All I need to say is as soon as I saw the packaging and one of the rounds themselves, I knew they were gonna annihilate anything in their path -- and they didn't disappoint. Probably the only thing better is Buffalo Bore ammo, but that's virtually impossible to get your hands on unless you physically go down to the States and buy it.

Beware if you own a Henry Big Boy Rifle in .45 Colt it will not cycle. The overall length of the round is slightly longer than a regular .45 Colt round which prevents the lever action from cycling. I had to feed mine in manually with the action open on a single shot capacity. I would advise checking the cycling in your rifle before you throw your receipt away or go hunting in any calibre. Nothing wrong with the performance of the round otherwise. In .45 colt it kicks twice as hard as a regular round but is accurate and goes down range like a laser beam.

I've seen two different batches/lots/production runs blow up two guns at one group shoot. I wouldn't shoot this if it were free.

This is serious bear load ammo. You may regret shooting 6 rounds in a row on the range because it will give your hand a workout. If I find myself up against a bear or wild boar that I have to put down, this certainly is the ammo I want to be shooting.

This is sufficient for grizzlies and the like. No need to spend twice as much for other name brands.

I bought this ammunition for my 460 S&W. Very powerful load that keeps me safe in the deep woods. I would highly recommend this load for deep woods activities.

I ordered it because they said 45 LC , BUT when I got the order I discovered that it is 45 Lc +p , it is very dangerous to use in taurus judge.

I ordered this ammo and it came in about a week. Keep in mind that it was 45 long colt in 325 grains. I saved money by not shopping from store to store only to be told they were out to ordering on line at a better price point for a better bullet than I was even looking for.

Have this because of several "resident" black bears in the area. A couple of sows with cubs every year between them, and the 400lb dominant male in the area. The only issue I have is I have a Henry Big boy in .45 Colt. These are about a 32nd of an inch too long. They jam against the bottom of the chamber, bad enough that it has to be taken apart to clear the jam. But, used as a single shot rifle, manually loading each round, they work great. God forbid these have to be used for real, the neighbors with very young kids know where to come for help. Picture is the bore, the ladder rungs are 14 inches apart. You can see his size, just over 6 feet tall when he raises up on hind legs.

In the .45 Colt, it is only safe to shoot in about 3 revolvers. Check it out online. Would recommend to a friend if they had one of them, or a rifle.

I bought this .45 Colt to use in my six Shooter handgun, when I loaded the cylinder with the ammo, cylinder cannot rotate due to bullet clashing with the cannon. The bullet is too long. I had checked the .45 Colt SAMMI measures of the long of the bullet and it states needs to be 1.600, when I had measured my actual bullet, this gives me 1.6875. Then i Had double checked in HSM Web site and they state that this ammo is for Handguns, which obviously is not. Cabela's Don give refund for this product, and now I waste my money.

I haven't shot them yet but at only $3.15 a round I am excited to try them, I shot this brand in my .44 and they seemed to work well

Excellent ammo for its intended purpose of bear defense. It shoots well in my gun, but I hope I never need it.

This ammo is ridiculously over priced lot of price gouging going on these days and this is top of the charts

Sighted these in on my 4” and they have a kick. They are gas checked and are accurate. I think they will be fine on a bear.

I hope its 5 starr bought to take to Alaska for grizzly protection and hope i dont have to find out if it's 5 starr...
